Merediths appendectomy

This is what i think should have happened when Meredith had her appendix taken out.

Addison was walking through the hospital when she suddenly heard a familliar voice calling her name, she turned and realised she had just walked past Merediths room.

"Dr Montgomery Shepard" was called from the room a few seconds after. The red head grimanced, not wanting to have a conversation with Meredith. "You bellowed Dr Grey" was said somewhat dramatically as she entered the room. A simple "hi" was the blondes response. "You certainly are aren't you" the red head responded as she took in Morphine Meredith and took the chart off the nurse. "But you aren't pregnant" was said with some suprise and some relief.

Meredith replied with a short "No" as if it were the most obvious thing in the world while Addison was trying not to show the relief that shot through her as she read the chart. Of course she wasn't happy about the blondes appendicitis but at least she didn't have to watch the intern go through 9 months of preganancy with non other than Derek Shepard.

"Are you okay?" was the next thing the blonde said and she was met with a rather sudden "fine" followed by a "How are you". Addison wasn't expecting the blonde to pour her heart out after she asked the question but then again she knows what morphine can do to people. "Im trying to choose between 3 people" was said sadly by the blonde.

Addison wanted to get out of this comversation as quickly as possible so replied quickly with "Good luck with that" before turning to leave. When she got to the door she processed what the intern had said and turned around. She didn't know much about the blondes personal life but she knew enough to be confused by the fact meredith said "3 people" as too her knowledge there were currently only two men in the interns life, derek and finn.

"Did you say 3 people Grey" was said as the red head walked back towards the bed. "Yeah" was Merediths dazed reply. Addison raised her eyebrows suddenly very intigued as to who the third person was. "I thought your love life only consited of Derek and Finn". the blonde sighed "It does yeah, the other person doesn't know how I feel". Addison had never been one for gossip but she was desperate to know who this other person was. "And who are they, why haven't you told them how you feel?". Meredith sighed and suddenly looked like she might cry.

"She so smart and beautiful and I love her so much but she would never love someone like me, she's too good for me". The blonde had tears rolling down her cheeks and Addison felt her heart break for the intern but a felt hope when she heard the intern refer to this person as a "she". Something inside her hoped she was the interns mystery crush.

The red head leaned forward wiping the blondes tears and said "You never know why don't you tell her how you feel" Meredith gave a sad smile up at her and asked "How did you know Derkek was the one?". Suprised by the question the attending raised her eyebrows before answering "I- um i didn't know... you don't know i just knew he would never hurt me, but that doesn't mean he was the one, i don't think he was my one" during her anser she had sat down on the edge of the interns bed and was hiding her face from the blonde thinking she might cry. "So if Derkek isn't the one, who is? Because i don't think my one is Derek or Finn i think it's her but i don't think im her one". Addison looked up and smiled softly "I don't think im her one either".

Just then Addisons pager went off and she quickly stood up saying bye to the blonde and all but fleeing the room before Meredith had chance to acknowlegde her answer.

Later that evening Addison recieved a page to Merediths room. When she got there she walked in shutting the door behind her when she saw the bonde sat in her bed crying. "Dr Grey ?" Meredith looked over managing a sad smile before patting the end of the  bed montioning for Addison to sit. Hesitantly The red head took a seat at the foot of Merediths bed. She knew the blonde had been taken of morphine so wasn't high anymore, and she didn't know whether Meredith would remember there conversation.

"You're right Addison" The attending looked up questioningly "I should tell my one" Ah so she did rember the conversation. "Listen Grey this is really none of my business maybe you should talk to Cristina" She made a move to leave the bed but the intern grabbed her hand and Addison tried to ignore how nice the blondes hand felt on hers.

"I broke up with Derek and Finn and i want to tell my one that im so inlove with them and even if it ruins our sort of messed uo friendship i need to tell them so" She took a deep breath before looking Addison in the eyes "Addison your my one... or I want you to be... and i know im not yours but i needed to tell you because if something happened ot you left and i hadn't told you i could never forgive myself so i know you might hate me and all but i just i needed to-"

"Grey shut up" Addison interupted her and The blonde looked up at her and saw tears streaming down her cheeks and the mega smile on her face "You love me?" The intern slowly nodded "Oh my gosh you love me.. Oh Meredith i love you too your my one" Meredith replied with a barely audible "What?" before the red head leaned forward and captured the blondes lips in her own.

The kiss was perfect and exciting and everything they had both hoped for and they only broke apart when they heard someone clearing their throat from the doorway. "Dr Grey, i see your doing well now" the blonde blushed slightly "Dr Montgomery" "Miranda" Dr Bailey nodded at her before turning her attention to Meredith and chekcing her vitals before leaving them both alone.

As soon as the resident had left the both burst out in laughter. After a couple minuted the two had calmed down and the attending asked the all important question that was on both their minds. "What are we Meredith, I don't want to be just sex to you i want a realtionship but with everything thats gone on between Dere And Finn i would complety understand if thats not what you want. "I would love to be able to call you my girlfriend Addie"

"Girlfriends" The red head spoke before leaning over and kissing the blonde again.
