She lies still, yet wide awake
Nothing to look forward to, nobody at stake.
Everything seems drastically worthless to her,
Her mind finds nothing to reason with, her heart- in an emotional blur.
She lies still, yet wide awake
She thinks about all that's broken, and whatever is left to break
She's tired of the same damned familiar faces, that daily routine
The grass on the other side never looked this green.
Her thoughts transport her to a valley unexplored,
Of lush flora, the princess and the toad
Of a man she stares at across the lake
Suddenly, finding something to look forward to, somebody at stake.
She seems happy, rather curious too,
The brain now has cause to defy reason while the heart has found a companion new
They defy reality to divulge in an illusion of their own
A fascinated pair, much out of their zone.
She lies still, yet wide awake
Back to reality, only illusions at stake.
The dark night has transformed into a morning bright,
Happiness so close, yet out of sight.
