Love, what is it, I ask myself as
she stares into my eyes from
with in my own arms.
This mystical force which enchants
my gaze;
this magnetism that locks my arms
around her;
this explosion of energy cascading
through my veins all because of a
single touch, the slightest gaze met
half way or even the tiniest murmur.
This is love? Ponders my questioning
mind;
my soul answers, weaving a softened
tone into my stare through my eyes;
joining the debate, my heart yearns
within my chest and stokes the
smile I just can't seem to hide.
Again I ponder to myself,
is this love?
This feeling that wells up inside my
very being, what is it?
This warmth which caresses every
cell right down to the nail-tips of
my extremities;
is it divine?
This enchantment which seems to
revive my very soul;
is it magic?
This rich eternal light as bright and
as right as the sun in the sky; heaven?
Perhaps.
What is this gravitational force
which always seems to bring us back
into orbit of each other,
even when it feels like an entire
universe separates us?
Perhaps this most incomprehensible thing,
is cosmic.
Does the sun extend its newtonian
force to the Earth as if to coddle
in a warm, delicate embrace?
Does the love of mothers wield such weight
that the children with in her reach are
helpless but to pour their hearts and souls into
the arms that hold them so protectively?
Can it be explained by science
and algebra?
Do chemicals and brain signals equal
the sum of this... unexplainable
wonder of life?
As I lay there;
as I hold her;
as I stare;
as my entire being focuses
squarely and entirely on this
person burried deep inside my
bosom, I begin, finally, to realize.
It is her stare, it is her touch,
it is her smile, her sound, her
embrace, her very being.
I realize my love for her is
everything she is. In short
my love is her, and that my
friend is pritty stellar to me.
