The sky is a beautiful blue, no clouds in sight. I take a deep breath of the fresh summer air. The best season by far here in the Rivendell kingdom. The other elves would argue saying spring is the best, but it rains too much for me. I would be laying down in the meadows past the tree-lines that are behind my home. My godmother wouldn't dare walk through those bushes to get here. The sun would shine onto me the grass around me would glow a bright green. I could stay here forever, in complete peace.
I could hear Annie calling my name in the distance. "Athena! Athena!" Annie is a good friend of mine, though technically she is my maid, so I guess she kinda has to be. I don't look at it that way though.
I sit up and see Annie waving her hand by the tree-line, she had a twig in her hair. Annie was too good, very sweet. We grew up together, I know her family very well. I know everyone families here at Brooke Estate. I stood up brushing off any grass that took a liking to my dress and wings.
"Let's go Athena, the countess has asked for you! It seems urgent!" I sigh as I make my way toward Annie.
As we walk up the steps of the estate, Annie was removing some pieces of grass from my wings. "So what does godmother want Ann?" She look up, Ann was acting off.
"Ann?" I stopped halfway up the steps and face her.
Ann sighed, "The countess received a letter earlier. She just read it and she started acting weird. I don't know."
Hmm, godmother acting weird now that is rare. We walk into the foyer and like normal it is busy with many servants, god I hate saying that, but workers working. At this time the estate is always busy preparing for lunch and attending to any guest who may be here. My godmother, the countess, loves to host company. We make our way into my godmother personal sitting room. Must be really serious if we are talking here.
I walk into the sitting room, my godmother would be reading, as always. "Afternoon godmother" Ann would shut the door leaving me and my godmother alone. I looked around as my godmother put her novel away. The countess did always have an eye for decor, she enjoyed light colors the most. You would never see her having a dark room.
