When you woke the next morning you woke to an empty bed, the bear whom you were snuggled with now gone. A soft slightly disappointed sigh escaped your lips as you sat up, stretching out and walking down the stairs, the light of the sun barely peaking over the mountain ridges. Casting a soft glow of gold along the dark emerald forest around your home. You were met with a quiet house, no sign of your parents or sibling around. This perplexed your considering your mother would be up around this time getting ready for work, maybe today it was her day off? It had to be.
You softly hummed once you came to that conclusion, perhaps your mother and father were both off today and your sibling stayed at your aunts house, they do love staying over night, your aunt always had the best activities planned when you were over. You started to make some breakfast, debating between waffles and pancakes.
After breakfast you went back upstairs to get dressed into some comfortable clothes, this consisting of sweatpants and a pull over jacket, since it has grown a little chilly out, a breeze swaying through the tall pine trees. You decided you were going to go out to the wood today like you did before, maybe sketch some of the beautiful scenery you had seen when you first explored the trail, starting to pack a bag.
About thirty minutes or so later after you left the house and we're now in front of a grassy hill of flowers, deciding this was the place you would try and sketch out in your book, taking a seat under a tree that over looked the beautiful field. Slowly beginning to sketch out the shapes of the fields full of grass, a critter rubbing across the field into the tree line every now and again."How lovely" you murmured to yourself, the pencil tip gliding over the eggshell paper in strokes as you slowly grew the shape and depth of the image, your expression relaxed.
A few minutes past as your sketched, your mind drifted off into another universe, quite engrossed in your activity. You snapped out of your trance when you heard a growl from behind you, snapping your head around before you spotted it. A bear stood a few feet away from you, it's brown muzzle full of scars, the black eyes of the bear gazing into yours. You were frozen, what did your grandfather tell you about bears? Were you supposed to lay down in the presence of a black bear? Or were you supposed to scare it? Your mind raced as you began to shake, your chest quickly rising and falling. Your eyes widening upon the quote plumped black bear running forward towards you, it's snout opening to reveal the large canines in its teeth, your hands lifting to protect yourself, even though you knew this wouldn't help you for long. Your eyes squeezing shut to prepare for the attack. A second growl breaking from the air with and a pained hiss, your arms lowering upon hearing the two growls of different frequency's and hisses of pain and aggression, your eyes being met with the black bear animatronic, his jaws latched onto the back of the black bears, the two tussling around the trees, your eyes squeezing shut from the blood of the smaller bears spurting out of its neck from the deep wounds on it, a low roar breaking through the growls and hisses before a sickening snap echoed throughout the forest, the area becoming silent, your eyes slowly opened once again, clasping your hands over your mouth from the black bears head which was now twisted backwards. The bears mouth gaped open, the larger mechanical bears crimson optics gazing over you, his jaws clamped down on the neck of the smaller fleshy bear, a hand on the head of it, slowly dragging the bear back into the woods out of view.
You quickly ram home after the event, not sure how to feel about the slaughter that happened in front of you, though the organic black bear would have possibly mangled you, you still felt terrible. Unable to shake off the image of the twisted up bear and the blood that covered it's frame and the larger bear dragging it off. You felt sick to your stomach, you've had a cat before that used to come home with chewed up mice, squirrels, and other rodents, but none of that matched what you just seen. Was he following you? You were grateful he protected you, but you could only wonder how he knew you needed help.
You quickly took a shower to help clear your thoughts, climbing in bed and hiding in the soft comforters. What were you to do once you met the bear again? Thank him for his assistance? You weren't quite sure, you just hope he doesn't appear coated in the bears blood like he was when you last seen him. The blood that coated his black fur and his jaws were imprinted in your brain. Would he do that to you if given the chance?
