The cafe was right around the corner I couldn't believe I hadn't seen it before. I ordered an iced caramel frappuccino, haze ordered a mocha, and August ordered some complicated drink I couldn't understand. I tried convincing him to let me pay but he said that it was an apology drink and that he should pay, so I reluctantly agreed.
"so Ellari where are you heading," august asked putting the drinks down and sitting next to me
"New York"
"we're heading there too, are you visiting or staying?"
"I'm staying, I got accepted into a college there"
"Where do you go maybe we go there too"
"Meadows Ridge"
"what are the odds we go there too"
"quite a coincidence indeed," I said
"do you have anywhere to stay?"
"I'm gonna be in the dorms until I can find a place"
"Why don't you live with us," I choked on my drink
"Pardon?"
"why not? we go to the same school and you won't lose thousands of dollars on a dorm room and thousands more on furniture"

"you're not actually thinking this over are you?" Haze said, finally speaking "he has a point but would you risk your safety by going to a house offered by a man you just met?"
"I don't know"
"do it do it, we have an extra room with a bathroom, a pool, and two kitchens"
"August what if she's a murderer"
"Does she look like a murderer?"
"Does anyone ever look like a murderer"
"yes they have a murder-loving face"
"I am not a murderer"
"you are too cute to be one anyways," August said
"stop calling me cute please"

haze went on his phone and August kept trying to convince me until I finally said
"I'll do it"
"REALLY?" He nearly shouted
"Yeah, why not? there's a chance you may be killers but I don't think killers would try this much to convince someone to come over"
"You're both stupid" Haze groaned
"But I do have a question"
"Ask me anything" August replied
"How many people live in your house?"
"With you 6"
"5? And the other are they all men?"
"No there is Clove, me, haze, Adriana, Alas, and now you"
"Don't worry about the girls they've been complaining ever since they moved in that they're outnumbered by 'bitches'"

If we're gonna live together I'm gonna need some way to contact you" august gave me his phone already on the contacts app. I took his phone and clicked on my messages app Immediately I saw my inbox was full. 78 unread messages and missed calls from Ellie and 5 messages from my father. "Earth to Ella you there?" I guess I hesitated "You know I'm planning on changing my number maybe I'll just give it to you then" "Okay" he mumbled sounding slightly disappointed, I gave him back the phone. I took a breath and opened my father's text
