[Dime]
prompt: life is like a lime (the goofy movie's miss beret)

"Off to watch some cartoons again, huh?" Jake's big fists didn't hesitate to strike my face, "Nerd."

The impact caused me to back away. Soon, there was liquid oozing from my nose - one which I was far too familiar with. My sight was blurred; doubling as I looked towards the gang of fifth graders in front of me - Jake's cocky grin included.

"What do you want from me, Jake?"

He pocketed his hands and shrugged, "Nah, just the usual." I found myself backed to the bricked wall while Jake's friends surrounded me.

"Hand over the dime, squirt."

A dime. That's all he wanted.

I saved it every week to rent a new CD - mostly Disney cartoons, which were Kristine's favorites. It had always been our past-time hobby - my sister's and mine - but it had been postponed since Jake came to pick on me after school.

I was always told to let him be. I'd only get terribly hurt from fighting with an upper class.

But this time was different.

I don't have a sister to watch cartoons with anymore - nor do I have the patience I had before to keep up with Jake's crap.

"If you wanted this dime so much..."

"Huh?-"

"... THEN WHY DON'T I SHOVE IT DOWN YOUR THROAT?!"

---

To think that all it took was a fight over a dime.

Perhaps what a character said from a cartoon I watched was somewhat true.

Life 'can' stop on a dime.

- End -

(yeh, this one's a little over the top eand a little corny, but yeh)
(Would it be considered murder if you had someone choke on a coin on purpose?)
