2 Gossip Girls

Charlie locked herself in a stall and put the toilet seat down, taking a few deep breaths to calm her fast beating heart. It seemed like Thor was flirting with her, an actual god flirting with her. A girl from a small town in the North East of England. She had been single for going on five years now so the flirting was catching her off guard, she was enjoying it but didn't know how to react to it. Taking a few more breaths she heard the bathroom door open, a couple of voices echoed off the tiles.

"So who is the new Avenger again?" asked an obnoxiously squeaky woman.

"Charlie St Claire or Angel as she's known" this voice sounded disgruntled.

"So she's been hitting on Steve all night! Sharon why did you put up with it" asks squeaky.

"Well our relationship isn't out yet so we both do our own thing at these events, but she is annoying me and Steve is far to nice to tell her to back off. Poor thing can't see what's right infront of her" Sharon giggles.

"Poor Steve must get sick of women fawning all over him" squeaky sounds nasty now.

"Well he picked her so she obviously is seeing something that isn't there, besides Steve wouldn't go for someone like her anyways. He likes his women strong but feminine and she is not feminine" Sharon out right laughs now.

Heels click against the floor as the women still chatter on and head out the bathroom back to the party.

Charlie is frozen, had it looked like she was hitting on Steve. She hadn't been she knew but to his girlfriend it may have looked that way. She wasn't even into him, she liked his moral code and the fact they had similar backgrounds it ment she had someone to talk to.
She frowned, the women had said she wasn't feminine and she wasn't but that had never bothered her really until she heard it said in such a dismissive tone, sighing she pulled herself together and went back to the bar.

Thor immediately noticed Charlie's mood had changed, she smiled but it didn't reach her eyes and her laugh sounded hollow. Picking up her drink he watched her murmur something to Nat and head off to the balcony doors.

"Is Lady Charlie alright?" he hadn't liked the sad look in her eyes as she left.

"Why don't you go check on her big guy" Wanda gives as small smile, the witch knew something he realised.

Charlie leaned on the balcony railings staring at the lake in the distance, starlight flickered across its surface. It looked beautiful and calm.

Thor watched her through the window, her dress glimmering against her skin. She looked like a goddess, all long legs a lithe muscles. His fingers itched to run down her smooth back and hitch a leg around his waist. He licked his lips at the thought of kissing her. He had only known her a short while but knew he wanted to know her in every way possible. Taking a deep breath he opened the door to join her. Leaning on the railings beside her he smiles. She gives a lopsided smile back.

"What can I do for you Thor?" she asks quietly, the question brings images of her on her knees infront of him asking what he wants from her. Clearing his throat he smiles again.

"Nothing my Lady, I just wanted to check on you. Your mood seems to have shifted and I was concerned about you" he says just as quietly.

"I'm fine Thor but thank you" she smiles at him.

Unable to resist any longer he runs a finger up her back, watching a trail of goosebumps follow. Resting his hand on her shoulder he looks into her crystal blue eyes.

"Now I know thats not true. Tell me please. I may be a warrior but I'm a good listener" he watches as she suppresses a moan and shudder at his touch, biting her bottom lip hard.

"Apparently Steve's girlfriend thinks I was hitting on him and that I'm not good enough for him because I'm not feminine enough" she spits the last part out.

Thor furrows his brows, surely Steve would of told him about having a partner finally and the fact that Charlie doesn't think she's good enough is absurd. It breaks his heart thinking of her with his friend but if he is what she wants then he would not stand in the way.

"How do you know these things?" he asks solemnly.

"I heard her in the bathroom with her friend, they were discussing me and Steve. Saying how Steve is to nice to tell me to back off" she huffs out.

"I don't even like him that way, I like his morals and compassion for others and I enjoy talking with him because we have military backgrounds" she rushes out.

Thor feels instant relief, she's not interested in Steve he repeats in his head.

"Could you wait here just a moment for me, I'll be right back" his smile is infectious now.

Running for the doors he heads straight for Steve, he see's Sharon in the corner near him twittering on to her friends. Throwing a scowl to her and her friends he grabs Steve's shoulder.

"Hey Thor, what's going on?" Steve looks at his friend confused.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" he asks bluntly.

"What? no, why? please tell me your not trying to play match maker with me" Steve looks flustered.

"Of course not, but you might want to have a word with Sharon. When Charlie was in the bathroom, Sharon and her friend went in after and were talking about you and Charlie. How she's not good enough for you because she's not a lady. Also Sharon told her friend you and her are together and now Charlie is upset because she thinks she's upset your girlfriend" Thor rushes out, Steve stands the with his mouth open.

"I-I, okay. I'll talk to Sharon. I should probably talk to Charlie as well. I like Charlie a lot but not like that" Steve looks embarrassed now.

"Oh well thats good because she doesn't think of you that way either" Thor give Steve a smug look.

Steve chuckles, Thor is positively beaming at the thought of the two not being interested in each other.

"Where is Charlie now?" he asks.

"Shes on the balcony, I told her I would be right back" Thor looks around worriedly hoping she's still there.

"Go get her pal, your obviously smitten with her" Steve smiles and sends Thor on his way with a push.

"What was that about?" asks Nat, she had been hovering near by when Thor rushed up.

"Sharon has been telling people me and her are together, Charlie overhead her in the rest room, she also heard her saying that she's not good enough for me because she's not a lady" Steve looks angry now, how dare she. They kissed once and she starts acting all possessive, not to mention after the kiss he felt really weird about her.

"She said what now!, oh she's asking for an ass kicking Rogers" Nat has a furious look on her face.

"Don't worry I'm going to sort it Nat" Steve says calmly.
