Stiles walks into the hospital, smelling the delicious and tempting scent of blood all around him. But something was off, he also smelled... coyote? What was that about? He glanced at a girl walking past him, hair short and face set in a resting scowl. She glanced at him almost as soon as he came into view. Luckily, his sunglasses hid the fact that he was staring back.
He brushed it off and continued towards the front desk, pushing his sunglasses to on top of his head. "Mrs. McCall?", he asked, slightly taken aback. "Stiles?", she mimicked. "It's so good to see you! I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope your settling in well.", she started. "Thanks, I'm actually settling in great, all things considered.", Stiles replied.
"What are you in here for?", Melissa asked. "I was actually coming in to donate blood.", Stiles lied. "Oh, well I can take you up to get started if you'd like.", the kind woman offered. "Don't you have to run the front desk?", he asked. "I'm sure Cindy can manage by herself for a few minutes."
Melissa took Stiles to the donation room and got all the equipment out. "How much are you looking to donate today?", Melissa asked. "I don't know, just the standard amount?", Stiles laughed. "That's fine. You're not afraid of needles, are you?", she asked. "Oh no, I'm fine with them.", he answered.
Melissa drew some blood from him and then left him to collect himself for a moment, going back to help manage the front desk. Stiles took the opportunity to grab a few blood packets, hiding them in his heavy coat. Then, he left the hospital unnoticed and headed home.
Once he got home, he realized he went out without his necklace. That must've been why coyote girl was staring at him, he forgot his scent blocker! He mentally face palmed and hoped she didn't belong to a powerful pack that would hunt him down now. He heard rumors of a powerful pack with Banshees and Chimeras around here.
At first he thought he might join them but then he heard about their victory over a pack of vampires and how they despised them.
And seeing as Stiles was part vampire, he figured joining them was off the table. He prayed this girl was just a stray coyote and that he wouldn't have to deal with anything else after the loss of his only remaining family.
He thought back to seeing her at the hospital and made a mental note of exactly what she looked like. Then he remembered Melissa. He almost physically face palmed this time, remembering he completely forgot to ask about Scott - his former best friend.
**** With Scott ****
Scott had completely forgot about the new fox in town by now, as his mind had favored thinking about the fact that his former best friend was back in town. He was excited to see him again after so long, but he also felt bad for him. Scott was close with the sheriff, seeing as he was friends with his mom, so he knew how hard losing him was. Although, he also knew Stiles lost much more than just a family friend, he had lost a father.
"Are you okay, babe?", Issac asked, bringing the alpha out of his thoughts. "Yeah, just thinking about an old friend." "The sheriff's son?" "Yeah."
The pack had moved on to watching movies now, they decided they'd talk about the new threat later, since they already had popcorn and snacks out. Malia tried to remember what the guy from earlier looked like, unaware that they'd meet again very soon.
Across the room from the rest of the pack, Derek was rummaging through his pantry, looking for his favorite movie candy. He was sure he had some yesterday. "Alright, that's it! Who ate my KitKats?!", he demanded. Erica tried and failed to hide her face behind a pillow. Derek just glared at her and stomped over to the counter to grab his keys.
"Looks like I'm going to the store then! Anyone besides Erica want something?", Derek asked as Erica rolled her eyes and stopped hiding behind the pillow. "Ooh!!! I'll take a Coke and some donuts.", Kira piped up. "A slushee." "Bbq chips and sprite." "Gummy bears!!!" "Anything chocolate and chocolate milk." "Ice cream and apple pie!"
Derek decided to just pass a notepad around and have everyone make a list of what they want. Then, he got in his Camaro and headed for the grocery store.
**** 20 Minutes Later ****
Traffic had made Derek feel like turning around without anything at all. But he finally pulled into the grocery store parking lot. He found the only parking space close enough to the entrance and in the shade, but it was next to a bright blue Jeep that looked like it was about to fall apart. And he most certainly did not want it to fall apart while his Camaro was parked next to it. Nevertheless, he parked and went inside.
Once inside, he headed straight for the KitKats, practically ripping the shelf off when he took all of them. "Can you spare one of those?", a voice asked from beside him. Derek turned to face the stranger, prepared to deny their request, but instead was met with the most beautiful man he had ever seen.
"Uhh... yeah, sure.", he replied, awkwardly reaching back and fishing for a pack of KitKats. He remained staring at the man the entire time. To which the man didn't seem off put at all. Maybe it was because he was used to being beautiful and stared at. The man was a bit shorter than Derek, had brown hair, brown eyes that looked like there was honey in them, and pale skin with freckles and moles.
The man wore a plaid shirt over a tank top, jeans, converse, and an interesting crystal necklace that looked familiar to Derek. But Derek couldn't quite figure out where he knew it from.
"Here.", Derek handed the bag to the beauty in front of him. "Thanks.", the man smiled at him. At that point Derek was sure the man was an angel, or maybe a hallucination. "Uh, what's your name?", Derek asked. "Stiles, you?" "Derek."
Oh no. Stiles. The name of Scott's old best friend. The man who just lost his father. The son of the sheriff!
Scott was going to kill Derek.
