Kylie's POV

Racing was something that flowed through my veins. Like it was what kept me going in life. The constant adrenaline, the thrill of the crowd, the roar of the engines, the speed. I loved it all. It was all I knew.

I've been racing since I was eight. Almost eleven years and I still haven't gotten tired of it. Every time I was in the car, I was learning something new, I was learning how to make myself better. I was learning what I was doing right, and what I could improve. I was learning more about me as a person.

Today was the most important day of my career. My first race in the Xfinity series. I was the driver for the number 28 toyota for Joe Gibbs racing. Ty and Brandon were my teammates, and they were really sweet guys. They loved to give me little pointers on how to deal with crowds and interviews. Especially since Xfinity was a lot more...competitive than dirt racing.

"Try to avoid Noah Gragson if you can. He's aggressive, and a cocky son of a bitch." Brandon shook his head as we stood in the garage area. People were everywhere taking pictures, and screaming their names.

"Ty! You're so cute." A girl, with short blonde hair and bright blue eyes yelled from the other side of the fence. I chuckled.

"Somebodys popular."

"He's nascar's pretty boy." Brandon rolled his eyes.

"You're just mad because nobody thinks you're cute." Ty shrugged with a shit eating grin on his face.

"Nobody thinks Griffin is hot!" He pointed out.

"Gee, thanks for the confidence boost teammate." I rolled my eyes. Brandon chuckled as I punched his arm lightly.

"Hey rookie! Good luck out there!" Justin chuckled as he stopped by my garage with his wife, and his daughter. Harper came running up to me as I knelt down.

"Thanks Justin." I smiled up at him as Harper gave me a big high five. She then ran back to her mother.

"Ready to rock, Griffin?" Ty smirked.

"Fuck yeah I am."

*************************************************
"Hell of a race, Griffin!" My crew chief Donnie smiled at me as I exited my car. He held his hand up, which I high fived. My team all hopped over pit wall, jumping and celebrating my tenth place finish.

I chuckled, throwing my fist in the air.

"Here I am with Donnie Winston, crew chief for the number 28. Why exactly are you celebrating? There must be some sort of milestone behind this." Jamie says, shoving the mic into his face. My team lined up, putting their arms around each other, with me towards the end.

"Its not exactly a milestone, more like us celebrating a great finish. Kylie has been racing her whole life, and then to have a tenth place her first race is truly spectacular. Our morale as a team is sky high, we all support each other. We may not have won the race but damn it feels good to be bringing in those top ten finishes." Donnie smiled, looking between her and the camera.

"There you have it folks. Just a team celebrating completing the race in one piece." She shrugged. I narrowed my eyes on her. Sure they were making a bigger deal out of this, but this team I had was nothing but supportive of me. They believed in me, and each other. That wasn't something to tear down. These races were stressful for most teams, and the drivers.
