Denali wanted to start by coming out to trey. She wanted to explain to him that it was never really about him. It was about her mom. And feeling accepted.
But now it was time to tell her father. Denali and her father Arcadius were very close. She told him everything so who knows how he was going to react. "Are you sure your ready for this nali?" I wanted to make sure she wasn't having any second thoughts. "I'm ready , I can do this". She assured me with a certain kindness you would see in movies.
About an hour goes by and Arcadius arrived home from work. Me and nali were in the living room waiting watching teen titans go. When her dad came in the kitchen she paused the show. "Hey dad , can we talk" she jumped right to it " of course de what's up". He was the only one who called her de everyone else called her Denali, well not me ofc I've always called her nali. " Listen I know everything going on lately has Ben a lot, and we haven't really talked lately but I just wanted to tell you ..." she paused for a second. I started to get anxious as she choked up. I grabbed her hand. "De you can tell me anything what's going on" . He was eager to understand what was happening. "I'm gay" she said it. Outloud, actual words. To be honest I didn't think she would do it. He sat there quiet for a second. "Dad say something please ". He looked up at her ... and he started laughing. I looked at nali more confused then ever. She looked back at him. "De I know. I've always. Known. I know you and I knew you would come to me when you were ready ". There it was... she told him. He accepted her. The Hardest part was over. After they hugged it out we went back up to denalis room. I put on X and we layed in her bed. Everything felt like it was they way it was supposed to be. Her and me.
