Chapter 2: Should I?

Lucas POV

I was in a meeting with Starex, some company I didn't know.

They were trying to get a collab with us. I let them state what they do and how this would  help for the both of us.

They didn't give me an answer.

Since that was an obvious red flag that they don't know how to be prepared, I called it off.

"You have to give us a chance." He slammed the table.

"What chance is there to give you can't tell me how this would help any of us, you're clearly unprepared. You're not qualified."
I said stern, trying to keep my composer.

The person was fuming. He stormed out the room, his assistant following behind him.

I look over at Derek, a close friend of mine from college.

He looks like he's gonna burst out laughing, red faced, hiding his face with his hand.

I roll my eyes at him and end the meeting.

I heard there was a new restaurant by here maybe I'll get something.

I just got done with work. Late. It was not fun it's like ten-thirty right now.

It's raining. Rain is so peaceful, so calming I love it.

I walked outside with my umbrella and stopped by the restaurant I went to early and someone walked out the door.

It's the cute guy.

Yeah I know it sounds kinda weird.

But I kept on walking. I have to go home to see my son. He's three years old and adorable.

He doesn't have a mother she left. It was a one night stand where she broke the condom intentionally, she got pregnant, I took care of her, after she gave birth she stayed for a month and then just left.

It was hard raising him alone because I didn't know anything about babies or children but I still love him more than life it's self.

I got home taking off my coat and slipping off my shoes.

"Dada?" I heard, a familiar voice.
"Why are you still up bub?" I asked.
"I can't sleep." He frowns.
"Okay bub I'll tuck you in."

He smiles and nods his head.

We head over to his room and I tuck him in and kiss his forehead.

"Goodnight bub."
"Goodnight dada."

I turn off the lights and close his door gently.

I took a shower and went to bed while the rain helped me drift off to sleep.

I was then awoken by a thought.

'Maybe I should text him.'

I cursed at myself for it being too late.

'fuck it.' was all that went through my mind.

I turned my phone on and put his number in and started texting.

I tumble out of bed but look at the clock it's midnight. I get back in bed and go to sleep or at least try to cause I can't right now.
