Katana angrily grumbled under her breath, trying to balance walking and adjusting the many things in her bag while simultaneously trying to find her purse. She was in urgent need of caffeine after a tedious and endless physiology lecture. While the subject in itself was very interesting, the old man teaching it had a way of making everything that came out of his mouth sound uneventful and plain boring. She could simply stay at home and read through the slides herself and somehow make it more interesting than Sensei Nakamoto.

And if that wasn't enough, academic stress was finally starting to kick in after procrastinating at least three of her assignments that were due by Sunday evening. But Katana couldn't bring herself to do any work willingly. She needed the pressure to work efficiently.

She skillfully maneuvered through the crowded hallways without bumping into anyone. Most of the students had the same destination as her anyway, creating a wave of students walking into the same direction: towards the cafeteria.

Ignoring some stares and glares she attracted, Katana entered the cafeteria. She huffed at the sight of too many people and the sound of too much happy chatter, making a beeline towards the café section.

A content sigh left her lips when she finally had a big black coffee to-go warm her hands. However, her plan using her remaining free day for her assignments immediately vanished as soon as a familiar voice reached her ears.

"Hey hey, Kata-chan!"

The dark-haired woman stopped in her tracks and turned around. When she saw her boyfriend approaching, she put a small polite smile on her face. "Hi Kabuto-san."

Upon hearing the nickname Bokuto shot her what was supposed to be a disapproving look.

Katana coughed to hide her amusement and just shrugged innocently. "Can't help it. You're my Kabuto-san now."

As expected Bokuto immediately dismissed the whole thing and shot her his usual bright smile. "Do you wanna sit with me and my friends? They're dying to meet you." He briefly glanced over his shoulder.

Katana followed his gaze and eyed a table with at least five other male students, seemingly half of the volleyball club. They were obviously trying too hard to act natural and not like they were staring at the pair. "They hot?" She asked as she slowly diverted her gaze back to Bokuto.

"Hey! I'm your boyfriend." He quickly said and glanced around briefly, letting out an almost inaudible breath when no one was actively listening.

"Okay, fine, I'm just messing with you, relax," she raised her hands in surrender. "Do they know?"

"Know what?" He tilted his head to the side slightly and knitted his eyebrows.

"That I'm actually a man."

"What?!" Bokuto exclaimed, his eyes widening and almost stumbling back.

Katana rolled her eyes but it lacked malice and sighed. "Idiot. I meant our situation. Do they know we're... fake?"

"Oh." Bokuto visibly relaxed his shoulders and let out a breath. "They... Well, I didn't tell them. We should keep it that way. That'll just make it seem even more real, right?"

The young woman raised an eyebrow and eyed him for a moment. "You mean to tell me your friends will believe that you suddenly show up with a girlfriend?"

Katana would certainly not believe such a thing if her best friend pulled a stunt like this. Friends were there for sharing such things after all, and that included crushes, talking stages and whatnot. Basically the whole process. I would be hella mad if Tooru didn't tell me every single detail from the start.
