i sit next to talia in chemistry, as we all wait for the teacher to come in. i glance over at dipnicky.

diesel was messing with him, and he shyly looked around to see if anyone was watching.

diesel eventually stops and sits down next to michael. i stand up and walk over to them.

"hey diesel." i say while smiling. "heyyy, ivy. it may be just because of the class but i feel like we got some major chemistry." diesel says.

"god, you're so clever!" i say. i put my hand on his knee. "would you mind switching lab partners with me?" i ask.

"i get it. you wanna be my lab partner, all rightt." diesel says. "no, no, i want to switch lab partners." i say.

"that doesn't make any sense. you're gonna be partners with dipshit." diesel says and points his thumb over his shoulder at michael. "i know. i am.. doing it for talia. she is totally into you." i say.

"all right, say less ivy. see you later, douchebag." diesel says and grabs his stuff.

i take diesel's place and i set my things down. i look over at michael's binder and i see a dr. who drawing.

michael glances over at me and i smile.

"i hope you're okay with this. i've been having trouble in chemistry, and talia talks through the whole lesson." i say.

"yeah, if academic success is your focus then i would seem to be your more viable option." michael says.

the teacher walks in, and the lesson begins.

—after school

honor, emma, talia, and i sit in the courtyard. diesel stands on a bench in the distance. "aye boys, that's my girl right there!" he says and points at talia. he forms a heart with his hands and puts it over his heart.

"ivy, did you tell diesel i liked him? he's been all over me." talia says. i just shake my head.

mason runs up to me. "ivy! you need to take the kids home today. i have theater!" he says. "jesus! calm down may. i got you." i say as i reach for my keys. "you're a life saver!" he says and runs off.

"i'll see you guys later." i say. "bye! love you!" emma says. "mean it." i say and i walk to my car. i call jayden.

"yes?" "hurry up and get to my car, we gotta haul ass to the elementary and junior high to get the kids." "where'd you park?" "the parking lot, duh. i'm giving you a minute." and then i hang up.

thirty seconds later i see jayden sprinting through the parking lot. i start laughing as i get into the front seat of my car.

jayden flies into the passenger seat and i take off to the middle school. i pull into the parking lot and jack comes out to my car.

"how was your day buddy?" i ask, as i pull out of the parking lot. i watch jack shrug in the rear view mirror. "it was okay." he says.

i pick up the twins and take everyone home. "love you ivy." matthew says. "love you too matt." i say as he climbs out of my car.

i drive back up to the highschool and i go to the gym/auditorium. "ivy!" mason says and walks over to me. "i have a huge favor to ask." he says as he pulls me to the stage.

"carol g got sick so now we're in dire need of assistance backstage." mason says. "oh hell no. i'm not joining theater."

just as i say that honor rose walks in. "hey ms felson." honor says. she looks at me and gives me a confused look. "honor. what're you doing here?" ms felson says.

"well," honor loops her arm in mine. "ivy and i want to join." she says. "wait hold on." i say.

"that's wonderful girls!" ms felson says. "strictly working backstage." honor says. "perfect! that's just what we need!" mason says.

mason leads us to the stairs leading up to the stage and sits us down. "we're gonna have so much fun." he says, and then walks away.

"hey, kennedy." honor says, turning her head over her shoulder.

okay, this is freaking me out.

mason takes a vote and majority of the people want to do the play spring awakening over kennedy's play. he passes out scripts.

"okay, time to go."
