ok hey because apparently i need to put this in all of my books for some reason. don't threaten characters in second person (ex. "i'm gonna kill you") do third instead ("i'm gonna kill her") because that is a really uncomfortable notif. ty
i wasn't going to put this initially but the a/n shit in the first chapter is thicker than my skull so i think i should just separate it out.
i have fake species brainrot. this is like a mermaid au except they're not mermaids and are instead some kind of made up sea lizard thing that i replaced mermaids with because mermaids are not scientifically feasible. and i know it's fantasy and that's cool you can do whatever but i decided to make life hard on myself and create an animal that could feasibly exist in real life.
warning, i am a taxonomy and phylogeny nerd. chapter 2 will be a lot of taxonomy and phylogeny. forgive me but this is very self-indulgent and i will be writing about the taxonomy if i want to.
and yeah. maybe i should put effort into my covers and not pick a stock image so more people will read this. but i'm a lazy ass.
also! content warnings for the whole book. these won't be added above any chapter unless it's really overly detailed or something
- i have techno as a character. if you can't handle reading about his minecraft roleplay character, then that's fine, but this isn't for you
- cryptid vibes. by that i mean that merpeople in this au think of humans as cryptids. they give weird descriptions that detail stuff like tendons and blood and hair in odd ways that might come off as mildly disturbing to some
- illness and injury mentions. quite a bit of this is pretty much recovery. it's gonna mention that the sbi minus phil has been sick
ok enjoy. or don't idk lol
