It was a sunny and rather boring day at the small town of Jasper Nevada. In one of the residents there, a young teen came out of the house before locking the door and making her way to school while carrying a book which she starts to read on the way and has a backpack.
She has light platinum yellow blonde hair that almost looks white and sapphire blue eyes. Fair skin and a rather charming personality. This girl is named Emily Sparks.
She moved to Jasper last month since her dad allowed her to move out of town due to his work but they always video call each other to keep in touch and she made three friends in the small town.
On the way to school, she couldn't help but hear the gossip and whispers that were mostly about her being odd and strange, which only made her roll her eyes and close her book since she arrived at school already.
Waiting by the steps were her three friends. Jack Darby, a 16 year old with slick black hair and stormy blue eyes, Rafael Esquivel, a Mexican descendant with soft honey brown eyes and spiky brunette hair and Miko Nakadai, a Japanese descendant with dark brown hair almost black with pink highlights and bright brown eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Hey, guys!" Emily called as she ran up to them.
"About time, girl! We've been waiting forever." Miko said as Jack rolled his eyes.
"Miko, we've been only waiting for Emily for 10 minutes." He said.
"Felt like hours to me." Miko stuck her tongue out playfully.
"Hey, Emily, how's that new book you borrowed from the library?" Raf asked curiously as they entered the school.
"Oh you know. Just the classic fairytale about Jack and the beanstalk story which I still find strange even though I read it after yesterday." Emily replied as they went to their lockers.
"Really? Maybe you can teach Miko here how to read that quickly since she finds books boring." Jack said as Miko punched his shoulder.
"Classic fairytales aren't boring, Jack-Rabbit. Plus it's the history and stuff that's boring. I wanna read something exciting! Or better yet experience something out of the sci-fi films!" Miko said excitedly.
Emily just shook her head in amusement before a tap on Jack's shoulder made him turn and he blushed lightly.
"Hey, guys." It was Sierra, the cheerleader captain with reddish hair and soft lime green eyes.
"H-Hey, Sierra." Jack greeted nervously.
"Sup." Miko greeted with a smirk while Raf waved shyly while standing beside Emily.
"Hey, Sierra. Fancy seeing you here." Emily teased as Miko nudged a nervous Jack.
"Yeah. Hey, is it okay if I sit with you guys at lunch? Katie is absent today and I was hoping that you could help me write down some notes for her." Sierra said as they started walking to their shared class.
"Oof. What did she get?" Jack asked in concern.
"Just the mild case of the chickenpox. Your mom came by earlier and gave her some prescriptions and she asked me if I can copy her notes for her." Sierra said.
"Sure thing. It's the last day of the school semester before the break. So might as well do that." Emily said as they entered class and sat down at their seats.
The teacher was already there and they arrived before 7:20 am which is always the start of the class.
"Okay, class. Time for roll call. Alexander?"
"Here."
"Kaden?"
"Present."
"Esquivel?"
