Heather spent her last month at the Dursleys in peace. Dudley, the great lump, now feared Harry and her. He spent the month avoiding the two of them. Petunia and Vernon acted as if Harry and Heather didn't exist. Night after night, Heather dreamed of a place where she could finally feel at home.
Nyx, Heather's black sooty owl, kept her company as did the books Hagrid had helped her buy. She spent her days reading, eager to learn about the magical world that was hidden from her. She learned about the origins of Hogwarts and the four founders.
Godric Gryffindor, founder of Gryffindor house. Rowena Ravenclaw, founder of Ravenclaw house. Helga Hufflepuff, founder of Hufflepuff house. And Salazar Slytherin, founder of Slytherin house.
Each of the houses had their own defining traits. Courage, bravery and chivalry define Gryffindor house. Ravenclaw emphasizes intelligence, wit and wisdom. Hufflepuff stands for loyalty, patience and a strong sense of justice. Slytherin values ambition, cunningness and resourcefulness.
After what Hagrid had told her and Harry about Slytherin, and the nasty boy at Madam Malkins', Heather knew she didn't want to be sorted into Slytherin. In fact, she believed Gryffindor would be best fit for her and Harry.
On the last day of August, Harry came rushing into Heather's cupboard explaining that Uncle Vernon would take them to King's Cross Station. That night, Heather hadn't slept a wink, her excitement had kept her up. She quickly changed into her jumper with jeans that flared at the bottom. She figured she'd change into her robes when they arrived at Hogwarts.
Two hours later, Harry and Heather's trunks were packed in Uncle Vernon's car. Heather kept Nyx, in his cage, in her lap while Harry held Hedwig, his snowy owl, in his.
"Harry, what time does the train leave?" Heather asked once they had made it to the station.
"Hagrid said at eleven." It was half past ten.
Heather nodded.
Uncle Vernon carried their trunks until they came at a stop between platforms nine and ten. Then, Vernon smiled, a rather nasty little grin. Heather scrunched her nose in disgust.
"Well, what platform do we get on?" She asked impatiently.
"Erm, the ticket says nine and three-quarters." Harry responded sheepishly.
"Nine and three-quarters doesn't exist, boy." Vernon said. He then turned and walked off leaving the twins on their own.
Heather looked around thinking. Meanwhile, Harry walked off towards a large family he'd heard discussing the platform. Heather followed.
"Excuse me, do you know how to get onto platform nine and three-quarters?" Harry asked the older woman, who must be the mother.
"Why, yes, dear. All you've got to do is run straight at the wall in between platforms nine and ten."
"Run at the wall? You must be joking!" Heather exclaimed.
"Believe me, dear." The woman said.
Seeing Heather's hesitation the woman told her sons to go on first. Two boys, who looked to be twins, went running off toward the wall. Heather shut her eyes when they were about to collide, however; when she opened them, the boys were gone.
Another boy, who the woman called Percy, went next. This time, Heather made sure not to close her eyes. Percy ran at the wall but instead of hitting it, he went through it. Heather was amazed.
"What's your name? I'm Molly Weasley." The woman, Molly, asked Harry.
"I'm Harry, Harry Potter and this is my twin sister Heather." The remainder of the Weasley family stated in awe.
"Harry Potter? What a pleasure to meet you!" Molly gushed.
"I'm Ron!" A scrawny boy whose face was plastered with freckles put a hand out.
Harry shook Ron's hand looking a bit overwhelmed.
Ron then turned to Heather and gave her a wave. Heather waved back.
Molly then turned to Heather, "Go on, through the wall."
Heather braced herself, then began to run. She shut her eyes while running and when she didn't feel an impact she opened them. Before her stood a great train labeled The Hogwarts Express. Loads of families stood by while their children climbed aboard the train.
Harry suddenly appeared by Heather's side, followed soon after by Ron. The three of them stared in awe.
"Come on! Better find a car before they're all taken." Ron said while running up to the train.
Harry followed eagerly with Heather close behind. Ron was right, the train seemed to be full already. By chance, they stumbled upon an empty cart and quickly claimed it. Harry and Heather sat side by side while Ron sat in front of them.
Ron was talking excitedly to Harry about some sort of spell, Heather tuned them out. After a while, Heather excused herself to go and change into her robes. She found the nearest restroom and quickly changed. On her way back, she was fumbling with her robe and walked right into a boy.
"Sorry, didn't see you there." She apologized.
"Not to worry, I'm Theodore, but I'd prefer it if you called me Theo." The boy, Theo, said extending a hand with a small smile.
Heather shook it. "I'm Heather, it's nice to meet you Theo."
"You as well, hopefully next time we talk it's under more preferable circumstances." Theo winked and then began to walk off.
Heather made her way back to the cart and found a girl with unruly curls standing in the door. Heather cleared her throat and the girl turned with wide eyes.
"Hello, I was wondering if you'd seen a toad, a boy named Neville has lost his." The girl said.
"I'm afraid not. Terribly sorry."
The girl looked disappointed but moved out of the doorway. Heather stepped through and sat at Harry's side. On the seat next to Ron were sweets, tons of sweets. And Harry and Ron's faces were covered in chocolate.
"I'm Hermione Granger, I've already met Harry so i'm assuming you must be Heather." Hermione stepped back into the cart.
"I am, lovely to meet you." Heather nodded.
Hermione said she needed to change but before she left she turned to Ron, "You've got dirt on your nose, do you know, just there."
Ron wiped his nose, turned to Harry and shrugged. Heather realized that both Ron and Harry were already in their robes. She wondered when they'd changed and bought all the sweets. Heather felt the train come to a stop and concluded that they had made it to Hogwarts.
Ron and Harry came to the same conclusion because they both jumped up and ran off, Harry dragging Heather by the hand.
"We're about to get sorted!" Ron said happily as they walked into Hogwarts.
Bloody hell. Heather thought.
