His mom would have never allowed him to play in this playground. He was dirtying his white shoes and messing up his hair so much. He was also sweating.
Not because Hyunjin's mom was a bad mom, she loved him very much, but, sometimes, she was a tad too worried about appearances.
That didn't matter now, though, because he was in the park with his new nanny, and she didn't know his mom didn't like these things. She was young, very young, and his mom said young people don't know a lot, so maybe it was that.
But sometimes he doubted his mom, because Hyunjin knew a lot of stuff for his age, more than his peers. He knew how to read some words, and how to play Tetris, and to count up to a hundred. So maybe old people don't know a lot about some things, too.
He also knew not to talk to strangers. Just like this man, who was talking to him.
The man was kneeling in front of him while he was sitting in his swing.–Hey honey, how're you doing?–, he said in a sweet, high voice.
Hyunjin already didn't trust him. He kept looking at the man, who never stopped smiling. –Do you want to tell me about your day?–.
–No, thank you.– Hyunjin mumbled. He looked around for his nanny, but she was nowhere to be found.
–Oh, why? You don't have to be scared, sweetheart. Your mama told me you'd be here.– The stranger said. Hyunjin's eyes opened a bit at that.
–That's not true. My mom told me to not talk to strangers.– The boy said, now more firmly. He didn't like this guy at all.
The man seemed surprised. –Oh! But I'm not a stranger, love. I know your mom. In fact, I know you. I held you when you were very little, so I don't think you can remember me.–He said, lovingly. –I know your mom because I'm her friend, she showed me you when you were a baby.–
–I don't know if you're lying.– Hyunjin told him. The man looked friendly, but he did not remember his face at all. But he did know a lot of things, and he knew it's common not to remember your life when you were a baby.
The man said –That's very smart of you, honey. She has told me you're a smart young man, aren't you? Well, for example, I know your name is Hyunjin.–The boy seemed surprised. He knew a stranger shouldn't know his name, and he had never told him. –I also know your mom is Hwayeon, isn't she? And I know she's at work now. My name is Jisoo, we went to high school with her, that's how we met.–
Hyunjin knew his mom went to high school, and she was at work now. –You've known her since then?–, he asked.
–Yes, since we were 13, although we didn't start talking until we were 16. After that we became friends, even after we parted ways for college.–Jisoo sat on the ground with a grunt. –Oof, I'm not 16 anymore. These knees are killing me. You miss your mom don't you?–He nodded. He always missed her.–Yeah, I guessed so. She told me she missed you too, and she was wondering how you were. That's why I'm here.–
