I was afraid to look up. I knew who it was, and he didn't need to see me the way I was. I knew that my make-up was smeered and that my eyes were fat and red from crying. I just merely nodded my head while it was still down. In a way, I wanted him to go away. I always imagined us meeting to be perfect. I would look amazing and hot, and he would insently fall in love with me. Yet, there I was, sitting on the side of the rode, crying like a lost dog. He even spoke to me as if I were one.
I felt his other arm pull at mine, trying to see my face. He was much stronger than I was, so when he seceded, I threw my face down into my lap. He sighed heavily.
"Look, if you don't want a ride, that's fine, but otherwise, stand up and walk with me to the car." He stood up in front of me.
I swollowed my pride and peeked up at him. His hand was out, waiting for mine. Reluctantly I took it, and as soon as my hand made contact with his, I was pulled to my feet as though I was weightless.
I dusted myself off. "Thanks," I muttered, looking to the side.
He sighed again and forced my body to look at his. Our eyes made contact, but his were anything but kind at that moment.
"Look, I'm tired. I just got off a plane from England four hours ago and I'm jet lagged beyond belief. I'm not really in the mood for this bullshit that you're pulling. I didn't have to make my driver stop for you, but I did it anyway because I felt bad for you. You can either be happy and thankfull and I can either take you home and you be happy, or you can continue acting like this and I can get back faster and sleep. It's up to you, but you should know that at the moment, the second option is really pleasing right now."
He stopped and just looked at me, waiting for my answer.
I nodded and looked down. "Thank you for stoping." I looked up and met his eyes. "I'd like a ride home please."
A smile crossed his lips and he held out a hand. "Names Niall."
I tried to hold a smile, but I failed as I said "I know," I took his hand. "I'm Kamron."
He nodded and put his hand on my back and led me to the black car in front of us. Niall opened the back door and slid in, going over to the other side. I followed him, and once I sat down and closed the door, the car was off.
I looked around the car. There were a few shopping bags on the floor. I saw a few candy bars, water, coke, pepsi, cookies, and eight boxes of food from a pick up place.
"You went shopping?" I asked Niall. When I looked over, he was too busy playing with his Blackberry to even hear my question. "Niall?" He still wasn't listening.
Up front, the driver was chuckling. "He gets lost in that thing," he said in a deep voice. From what I could see of him, he was a dark skinned man wearing a white T-Shirt and a white hat. He smiled at me in his mirror. "I'm Ben, I'm there security while they are here. Well, I'm one of them. I was sent with him to pick up a few things, as you have noticed. I tried talking to him on the way to pick the things up, but he was just playing with his phone the whole time."
I smiled and looked at the boy next to me. He was so absorbed with his game he was playing. His face showed that he was dedicated to whatever task he was doing, his eyes never even blicking.
"He is so focused right now," I said to the driver, staring at his face. I saw the reflection of the game in his eyes. He moved the phone and tapped his thumb rapidly on the screen.
"Yes ma'am he is. I was surprised when he turned it off. It was a good thing he did too, because once he turned it off he stared out his window and saw you sitting there. He told me to stop and back up, and that was the first time I heard him talk."
