𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Hilton Anaheim, California
𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪: Brianna

It was five minutes after noon meaning mom was here for like 10 minutes. She was one to be early and never late and I was running the tiniest bit late purely because I couldn't decide on which heels to wear.
I already knew when I approached the table, she was going to say something about what I was wearing or what I had done with my hair or makeup. She was one to critique my every move, especially the career choice I had taken because it wasn't what she wanted.
"Brianna, five minutes late? I taught you better than this. But it's nice to finally catch up after a couple of weeks." She criticised like I knew she would and I took a seat across the table before picking up the menu. We weren't one for hugging or kissing so we just went straight into ordering our food and doing our monthly gossiping about our family members, including my siblings and dad.
"Your father has begun to draw up the blueprint for the next company building. It's going to be here in California but up north. If it wasn't for the Playoffs starting this year, he would be much further into it. But you know him and his basketball." She chuckled, tapping her mouth with the napkin after finishing off her glass of wine.
"Oh and also, I watched that wrestling show you mentioned and mind you, it cost a decent amount of money. Anyways, those two young guys you are going to be with seem very, well, bad." She brought up and I sighed knowing this could go very wrong, very quickly. The small comment thrown in about the cost of the event angered me as she was a wealthy woman who could afford anything she wanted, but this wasn't something she wanted.
"You know you didn't have to watch it. But that's just the characters they play, they're supposed to be guys that are egomaniacs." I retorted, trying to save their asses even though when I met them, it was absolutely awful. Our food eventually arrived and even during the meals, she went on about my sibling's success with their jobs which I couldn't care less about.
"Oh and also, Warner's wife is pregnant. That means you're going to be an aunty." She announced out of the blue making my head snap up to see her moving her food around before bringing it up to take a mouthful. This was the way I found out another family member is coming into our lives and why wasn't I told by them themselves?
"Why wasn't I told by them? How come I have to find out through you?" I didn't think before blurting it out but I needed to know desperately that I was now going to have either a niece or nephew. She placed down her fork, staring at me like she was trodding on eggshells around me.
