Chapter 1: School

Since the day we all met, we had a thing for going to the rooftop during lunch. We would all lay down on the cold concrete ceiling, staring into the cloudy skies.

It may seem boring or crazy to the other kids who walk upon us. It was our time to finally take a breather from the chaotic world.

Sooyoung and Yeri would always be late to our grouping due to whatever reasons. Hani would bring the food for us to eat and would often grab Wonyoung and Momo on the way here. I was always the one early.

As I walk up the stairs, I hear the bell go off. I grab a quick look at my phone... It's 11 am. Everyone should be heading here now. I head to my small area and lay down, waiting for the footsteps and laughter to arrive. I close my eyes.

"Seulgi!! Ya wake up!"

I feel someone shake my shoulder. When I open my eyes, It was Wonyoung.

"Wonyoung..? What time is it?"

"It's 12:10 pm"

I jolt up to look at my phone. As expected it's the afternoon already. I look around expecting the rest but I don't see them.

"Where is everyone?"

"They didn't make it up here today. Our homeroom teacher had Sooyoung, Yeri, and Momo with other kids, stay with her during lunch. It seems that she caught them all cheating together. *sighs* When will they learn" She frowns when she explains the situation.

"Well, what about you and Hani?"

"Hani and I studied for the upcoming exam. You should do the same instead of resting."

I gave her a smirk while she gave me her hand so I could get up. I realized that we were late for class.

"Shouldn't we be in class right now?"

"Don't worry! I told our teacher that you were visiting the counselor. She excused you but the group is freaking out after I said that haha"

"Thank you, I'm sure they are! I'll talk with them later on but I must've slept past my alarm. Have you eaten yet?"

"Mhm, but you haven't. Go to the counselor and get some snacks. I will see your last hour. Don't forget water too!"

"I won't forget it! See ya!"

Wonyoung and I walk back down the stairs. We part ways when we get to the second floor. I make my way into the Counselors room. There the counselor greets me.

"Seulgi... why'd you sleep in again?"

I wanted to tell her that I simply slept past my alarm but it would sound like an awful excuse. So I quickly made up one.

"Oh uh... I stayed up too late studying. You know me haha"

"You are not fooling me."

I give her a small chuckle which she gives back. She pats me on the back and walks out of the room. I notice the snacks and sit down on the couch until the bell rings. The day went by until the end of the day. As I head to my locker, Yeri comes running to me. She gives me a huge hug and whines.

"Seulgi!!!! I'm sorry for not attending to you during lunch. Are you mad at me? Are you sad? I'm sorry I'm !!!"

"Yeri calm down! You are fine and it's honestly alright. But now that you bring that up... I heard that you were caught cheating!"

I playfully grab her ear which she yells. She continues to apologize over and over again. The rest of our group walks on this encounter. I make eye contact with Sooyoung and joking say "You're next" She screams dramatically.

We all grab our stuff out of the lockers and walk to the buses. On one bus are Sooyoung, Yeri, and Wonyoung. The other one is Hani, Momo, and I. We all get dropped off at our stops and enjoy the day.
