"Surely they wouldn't find out…" A Raven-haired girl mumbled anxiously as she nibbled on her fingertips.
The girls silently stared around the café feeling so nervous about what she did. One of her friends invited her to a party which she gladly accepted. Without thinking too much about it, she then noticed a certain sentence in the letter she had gotten from her friend which made her confused. So she asked her friend, Camilla. What was the occasion all about? Her friend's statement made her feel frozen at the moment she realized that she needed a date for the party.
Quickly making up an excuse as she was about to give the invitation back to her friend. Camilla insisted that she should be there, since she's been noticing that her friend, Yor. Has been acting up so weird when she ever mentioned her relationship with someone. She started to doubt that she was even seeing someone. At this time of the event, it is a perfect day to show off her date at the party. Yor soon regretted accepting the invite without knowing what it is all about.
In the end, she ends up agreeing to her invite which made Camilla even more excited to see her humiliate herself in front of others for being the only one that doesn't have a date.
Now that has passed, Yor couldn't find herself looking up someone single on the Internet. The party is within a week so when she is finally about to give up and just accepted the fact that she will embarrass herself in front of other guests. An ad went into her page and made her stop sulking.
Rent a girlfriend/boyfriend?
She asked herself. Out of curiosity, she clicked the link and was bombarded with reviews full of positive comments.
As she read all the comments. She finally found herself breathing properly. This app could make her life easier!
Without a second thought, she went up on doing the requirements. And now, finally found a match for her to help them through her journey. As her fake date to the party. Appearance and personality don't matter to her. All that matters is that she won't be humiliating herself at the party.
When she was able to have contact with the person she matched with. She couldn't socialize herself to send any message so she let the person do the first interaction.
Yor wasn't so sure what they looked like. All she knows is that it could probably be a boy or a girl. And like she said, she doesn't care at all.
"They should be here any minute now…" She whispered.
A sudden bell rang in her ears as she felt the café door open. Not turning around, she just patiently waited for the person to come.
Footsteps can be heard right behind her as her hands shake.
"Excuse me, Are you perhaps Yor Briar?"
"Y-YES—" As Yor turned around. Her jaw dropped seeing a (Skin color) - colored female right beside her. Her h/c hair was put into a nice hairstyle which suited her really well. Yor couldn't talk as she admired the girl's appearance.
"Are you still there…?" Y/n asked nervously, feeling a bit uncomfortable under the Raven-haired's gaze at her.
"Y-Yes! Uhm, Y/n L/n?" She then asked. This made the girl chuckle as she nodded in response.
"Oh good! I thought you would ditch me…" Y/n joked as she sat down in front of the girl. She then pulls out a file and then starts to look for a specific paper.
"In this paper, is our contract, Ms. Briar. There are some rules that I've personally made before we start this whole thing. I would also need to know why you need me as your 'girlfriend' too." The h/c haired girl explain as she pushed the paper for Yor to study the contents of the paper.
Yor takes a grasp of it as she starts to read the top to bottom. Though, her eyes were focused on a certain paragraph that made her look at it curiously.
Rules no. 13 - You can't fall in love with your partner.
But she didn't bother anyways, she would only need her help once.
"I see, well… My friend is holding up a party in a few days. I was told to bring a partner along with me since I've lied about having a relationship with someone and, I just hope you're getting onto my point…"
"I can see that, I see your reasons Ms. Yor and I don't have any against it. But, since you didn't reply to any of my messages yesterday. I wanted to ask you the things you haven't answered. That is, for how long will it take me to be your partner." The girl asked as she tangled her fingers together.
"J-just for 1 day!" Yor quickly replied.
"Hm, alright then! but if you would need my help again. You could always contact me if needed." She brings another file out as she handed it to Yor. The Raven-haired looked at it confusingly but took it anyway.
"What's this…?" She asked.
"Oh! This file is all about myself, as you may have known… events like this happen most of the time. As you are one of my clients, I'd say we would need to share information about ourselves in case we were bombarded with questions. As an example of what we usually do? But of course, that is only a made-up! People will be suspicious if we wouldn't answer the same thing and would be acting as if we don't know if we would share our thoughts you know?" Y/n explains as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"I see… but the party is within a few days. How can we simply go on to the act if we don't know each other that well…" Yor scratches her chin with her index finger as she eyed the girl in front of her.
"That is why I'm planning on making more schedules for our date Ms. Yor!" She smiled at her making the ravenette blush at the sight of her beaming at her with such a beautiful smile. To think of it, she was expecting her to be a guy but things in her mind just changed so quickly after seeing her in person.
Maybe having Y/n as her 'fake' date won't be bad after all.
Let's just all hope that those people who are invited aren't homophobic.
