Tartaglia had been back in Snezhnaya for not even a week and for once he was desperate to leave. Due to his injuries, he was to stay in headquarters and complete paperwork. He'd even been given express orders not to spar with the recruits. It was suffocating to spend days sitting at an office desk reviewing outstanding debts for Northland bank. Debts he wasn't even going into the field to collect on. Tartaglia was utterly trapped.

What made it worse was he couldn't go searching for his savior. It had to have been nearly three weeks since he had seen her. Tartaglia had spent nearly every day of those three weeks either trying to gather information or convince the other harbingers to let him go to Sumeru. Both had failed miserably. Scaramouche had even laughed at him.

With only a first name, general location, and fuzzy description he was getting nowhere with his intel. Tartaglia also knew he couldn't assign his subordinates to search for her. It would be a blatant misuse of power and, more importantly, a hassle if the others found out. The other Harbingers wouldn't allow him to just run off to Sumeru. He had no assignments there and Il Dottore was already stationed in Sumeru.

Tartaglia couldn't even spare the time to go visit his family. It was almost painful to be home for so long and not be able to see his siblings. He missed them all greatly, particularly Teucer. As Tartaglia was working through more paperwork there was a sudden knock at the door.

"Come in." Tartaglia's tone was one of boredom and he didn't even look up from his papers to see who had entered his office. The door to his office slowly swung open to reveal the Eighth Harbinger.

"You'll be leaving for Liyue in a week." Her tone was deadpan and disinterested as she regarded Tartaglia. Tartaglia casually dropped the document he had been reviewing on a pile on the corner of his desk.

"I thought I was to remain in Snezhnaya and complete paperwork until I'd healed." Tartaglia let an edge of annoyance slip into his words and contenance. He couldn't help it. His entire body was itching to get out of this office. La Signore fixed the younger Harbinger with a blank stare.

"The medical team has given their estimate that by the time you arrive in Liyue you'll be fit to work. You've healed exceptionally fast thanks to the treatment you received in Mondstadt. You leave in a week."

Following her statement, La Signora turned on her and extended the office leaving Tartaglia once again alone with his thoughts. He let out a sigh as he sank further into his chair, his posture mimicking that of a whiny child.

"I guess Sumeru will have to wait."

.....

"You want me to come with you to Liyue?" You had been eating lunch with your fellow Akademiya researcher Anya, when she'd suddenly sprung on you the idea of traveling to Liyue for research. "You do realize I just got back from Mondstadt three weeks ago–"

"But that wasn't a trip that you were a researcher on. You were there as a medic." Anya argued back.

Anya was a headstrong woman from a remote town in Snezhnaya. As she put it, her options were to marry or join the Fatui. Instead, she left her hometown, much to her parents' chagrin, came to Sumeru and was accepted into the Akademiya. Her research focus is the Archon Wars. She's spent an inordinate amount of time visiting different sights of the wars, participating and conducting field research. Now she wants you to come with her to Liyue to do field research.

"Think about it. There are a lot of medicinal plants and good pharmacies in Liyue. Liyue Harbor would make a wonderful spot for your research." Anya did have a good point and you couldn't deny that it was tempting.
