"GET OUT!" My mother yelled
"MOM whats going on?" I said in a frightened voice.
"Nothing, Shane, go back to bed sweetie" My mother called.
"And I'm taking Shane with me when I'm going too" my father boomed.
"No, no dad I wanna stay with mom!" I yelled.
"Shut up Shane. You're going with me wether you like it or not!" my father was pissed now.
I knew when my father bossed he wasn't kidding…so I knew I had to go with him or he will get out his beating stick that he uses on Shadow our Great Dane mix and would beat us. But now I don't care.
"No dad I'm not going with you ok?!" I yelled.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY SHANE MCLURE?" My father screamed.
"I said NO get a hearing aid…listen dad if you really loved me you would let me do what I want not what you want!" I said.
"Then I guess I don't love you cause your not doing what you want your doing what I want!!" He said.
"FUCK YOU DAD" I said and slammed my bedroom door so hard the hole house shook. I'm really surprised that my sisters aren't upset or even trying to stop it…they should be more scared then me.
"DON'T EVER COME OUT OF THAT ROOM BOY CAUSE IF YOU DO I WILL KICK YOUR ASS SO HARD IT WILL KICK YOU INTO NEXT YEAR" He threatened.
"Oh shut up dad" I said. Then I heard his room door open and then 5 mins later slammed shut then the front door opened and slammed shut. My mom knocked on my door.
"Shane, are you ok?" My mom asked.
"Yeah mom I'm fine…what the hell happened anyway?" I asked.
"I'd rather not discuss that with you but don't worry…he won't get you or your sisters" She stated.
"Yeah ok" I said " I'm gonna take Storm out for a ride ok?" I said.
"Ok honey have fun" My mother said.
"Yeah I'll try" Storm is our 5 year old black and silver through-bred horse. I saddled her up and took her on my normal path…except…something was different this time it was…I don't know….Odder then usual?…Storm didn't seem to notice but I did…then she spooked…turns out she was spooking over Shadow…who walked right in front of her and barked.
"SHADOW!, BAD BOY!" I scolded. Shadow wined. "Go home kay boy?" He barked twice and ran towards home. Me and Storm were trotting then suddenly she broke into a canter, and started into the woods…the way we DON'T go. I pulled on her reins and put her back into a trot, turned her around and cantered home. I dismounted and then took off all her equipment then started to brush her and clean her hoofs..then I saw they were bleeding, I called my mom over and she was a vet so she looked at her.
"Huh? Thats unusual" she said.
"Whats wrong?" I asked worried.
"I don't know…there is just a random cut on her hoof" My mother said confused.
"We should just put a bandage on her hoof and I won't ride her tomorrow" I said.
"Yeah that'll work" My mom agreed.
