It's graduation day at Evergreen high, the 12th grade seniors are finally graduating from high school and move into adulthood. Some are excited and happy and some are sorrowful and sad, not wanting to say goodbye to the ones that had been with them since their childhood.
After the graduation ceremony, most of the seniors had packed up their stuff from their dorm and left Evergreen high and never came back.
Some of the seniors went out for a celebration party, and some seniors stayed back and wandered around the school for dear old memory sake.
Maizie Pierre is one of the students that went to the party, she hiccuped and drunkenly stumbled into the school. Her friends, Syazwanie and Penelope helped her to walk without her falling over.
"Ugh…WHy DiDn'T IsIS cOmE wiTh uS? I'm SooOO bUmMED mAn…" Maizie slurred. Both Penelope and Syazwanie know who she was talking about.
Isis Jones, she's Maizie's girlfriend. She didn't come to the celebration party because she didn't want to, Isis said it's due to personal business. Maizie is obviously upset by the rejection but she didn't want to force her to come and discard her own personal business because of that.
That doesn't mean that Maizie is still not upset though. "Maizie, Isis said she can't come due to personal business remember?" Syazwanie comforted the drunk and upset girl. Maizie whined and complained how she missed Isis.
"I miss her…I miss her beautiful locs…I miss her touch…" Penelope sighed as both her and Syazwanie carried the whining girl back to their dorms. Two people in the distance started approaching the trio and Syazwanie immediately recognized who it was. It's Charlie and his cousin, Max.
Charlie and Max approach the trio and see the drunk Maizie. "Well if isn't the school's best athlete, never in my life would I have guessed that you can get drunk. Not to this state at least." Charlie said, it's his way of saying hello. Maizie chuckled and waved, Penelope just laughed.
"You know how she is Charlie, she doesn't back down from any challenges." Max snorted at that. "Have you seen Isis..??" Maizie managed to ask without slurring and any hiccups.
Charlie shrugged. "I dunno, last I saw her was around the dorms." Max said, Maizie looked disappointed.
"I guess she did go home already…We didn't get to say goodbye one last time…" Penelope patted her back. "Hey, you have her number. You can call her and hit her up anytime." Syazwanie reassured her.
Penelope was about to say something but was distracted by an older man walking past them.
The man was wearing a black trench coat from what Penelope could tell. "Hey uh, why is there a grown man walking around in our school?" Penelope asked, Max looked at the older man.
"Well this is what I heard from the teachers, and apparently, every decade at night, people that stayed behind tend to go missing." Max explained.
"And that's why this year they hired a detective, to make sure that no one goes missing this year." Penelope was a bit freaked out upon hearing that. Syazwanie looked even more creeped out.
"Yeah, why don't we just hurry back to our dorm and pack our things? I would like it if I was back home before 12 p.m. and not kidnapped." Syazwanie joked but it's obvious that she wants to leave as soon as she can.
All of them nodded and walked back to the campus together. They all separated and went their own ways after arriving at the dormitory, Syazwanie fished out the keys and opened it, Penelope hurried to lay Maizie down onto her bed.
Syazwanie starts packing her stuff and along with Maizie's, Penelope also starts packing her stuff. What felt like hours, all of them had packed all of their belongings. Maizie had already sobered up, some minutes ago. As the three of them were ready to leave, a student ran up to them, stopping them in their tracks.
