Some days the sun glistens and the sky is it's simple background,
The sky is often looked at in wonder,
It's simplicity amazes anyone. The sky doesn't mind being the background for the sun,
It figures that without a background the sun would not shine as radiant as it does now,
Then it remembers that the sun doesn't need it to be as background.
Other things work much better than its simplicity,
After all at night, the sky becomes colourless. At night the sky lets space and the stars be seen and allows the moon to take centre stage.
The sun now let's the moon shine too,
The stars shine and look astounding when they share the light they each hold,
And they follow the moon. The sky only begins to gain colour back when the sun and moon decide they can switch now.
The sky is told and is remembered during the dawn of day, to become a background once again for the sun.Clouds also become a part of the background of day, making the sky just that bit more interesting.
Soon enough everyone becomes entranced with clouds, white whisps of colour that show clearly against the simple blue sky.So now the Sky becomes a background for the sun and these clouds during the day too.
Clouds start to invade the night scenery too,
The stars and the moon welcome them to night time,
The sky starts to realise that the stars don't all get to shine together anymore. Clouds are covering some up.After this realisation the sky tells the moon and sun and stars about how the clouds are starting to take centre stage even though they arrived last, it didn't seem fair that people should see clouds all the time.
The moon and sun and stars say to the sky that people see it all the time, so it shouldn't make a difference.Soon everything that the sky held up likes clouds and adores them,
Clouds are often looked at in wonder,
Their simplicity draws you in.When the sky asked the people below what they loved most about the scenes of day and night,
The replies were very much the same.
Some replied with the shining sun or the shimmering moon or the glistening stars. Pretty much what the people below always answered with. But this time people from below also started to reply with the ever changing clouds. And as time went by, the sky asked the same thing to the people below.
They replied the same until one year something changed.
People below started to say the sky. They sky wondered what it had done to gain this answer. So it asked everyone why? Why did they love the sky?
Well, they said, during the day the clouds and the sun are amazing and the night sky, during the night sky the stars sparkle and the moon shimmers perfectly and sometime the clouds are their too. This confused the sky. At night the sky wasn't seen, it was colourless. So why were people below saying it was loved most during the night? Did that mean people preferred it when no one could see? Would that make it be seen as beautiful and loved?
Time passed again as it always does.
People began to panic as did the other elements to the day and night scenes. Night was lasting longer, taking up more hours than necessary.
The sun was angry, did it offend the sky? Did the sky like the moon and stars more?
The moon and stars started to worry when the sky stopped talking to anyone. Soon enough the sky stayed dark and black. During day and night.
The clouds were not phased by the change in the sky, it didn't depend on the sky for anything. Even though clouds were harder to see now.People below began to think absurd things. The sky had turned evil, the sky had chosen night time forever, the sky had once loved the sun but the love was one way...
It amused the elements of day and night greatly and they didn't worry about the sky anymore,
The sun had learnt that against a black backdrop, it could shine even better than against light blue. So the sun decided to focus on the clouds and along with the other elements of night and day, listened to the absurd stories the people below came up with and laughed.Until the last story that spread like wildfire.
This story had been decided by the people below was what had happened and explained why the sky was now black.
That story was that the sky had died.
The reasoning behind that last story made so much sense to everyone including the elements of day and night. So much so that it was taken as truth.
So the sky remained in only memory to the elements and became a legend, a myth to the people below who were born and died so easily and quickly.
But
The sky wasn't dead, the sky was so confused. Why did everyone think it was dead? It was just remaining colourless because everyone was happier this way? Why was it presumed dead? Then it hit the sky like its friend lightning did to below. No one knew that at night the sky held back its colours so the others could shine and be loved and seen. They all thought that the sky was simply asleep and therefore wasn't blue at night. And now that it had turned black entirely, they thought he was dead.
But
The sky wasn't dead.Screaming internally and fighting against the barriers the sky built around its colours, the sky fought to release the colours it once held. But the sky had built the barriers too well. The sky had never intended to release his colours ever again when he constructed the barriers. They couldn't be broken, by anyone or anything.
Time passes as it always does,
The sun shines during the day, the clouds moved effortlessly through day into night, then the moon and stars knew when to come out, the clouds told them. The clouds became the background of day and night. Telling everyone when they could take centre stage. Once it had been the sky's job, now they sky was all but a memory. A myth. A legend.Sky ended up giving up in releasing it's colours ever again once it was forgotten but for in memory. There wasn't any point now. So more and more forgot the sky and moved on with time and life without knowing the sky was there the whole time, they all believed that the sky had died long ago,
But
The sky wasn't dead
It was just colourless
And in being so, was forgotten.
