Chapter 1: January, 18th 1987

Joseph Hilda, your average 23 year old first applied for his job at TrueLife Industries as a janitor. And of course it wasn't great pay but what do you expect? He was going to be a janitor after all. what other options did he have after being sent an eviction notice from his purely evil old landlord, Victor Shmelder the last thing he wanted was to be on the streets begging for money like the old man on the side of the off-license who slept on cardboard. Joseph always felt bad for him and gave him £5 when passing by.

This afternoon Joseph Hilda left his one bedroom apartment and drove to the local off-license shop; Mega-Mart (which clearly wasn't mega) and strolled in, grabbed one curry noodle pot and walked over to the counter to pay. But on his way to the counter, he sees the newspaper stool. The top newspaper on the bundle was the 'Daily Info' which was normal but then after looking down he sees the title... 'Owner Of TrueLife Industries Found Dead Today' After seeing that a shiver travelled down his spine. Reaching out with his now intensely shaking hand, he grabbed the newspaper. That was the start of the thought in Joseph's head saying "Should I do this job?"

He then woke up. After seeing his sweat drenched bed, he realised all his windows was shut and his fan was off but before he turned them on, he saw the newspaper on his bedside table... With courage, he gripped the newspaper and began to read. "the manager was found on the floor by the recently fired janitor (now he knew why the janitor job was available) with mysterious scratches across his neck all the way down to his right leg." From what other people had gossiped about is that he was a lousy drink and drug addict. But in the interview Joseph thought he seemed a really nice guy. Yeah maybe he could of been a drinker but that's probably because he was alone. On his desk Joseph saw a picture frame with a photo of what looked like his wife and daughter?
But a couple of years back when Joseph was 17 years old, he read a newspaper in the shop window and the headline was, "Tragic accident at the blinder (tallest building in Joseph's city) 2 people dead" and after reading more, he read the 2 people's names who was included in the accident. Layla Swindle and Nancy Swindle. And on the manager's name tag was George Swindle...
