Ambrose x Fem!Reader

Requested by Anon

"I have received a letter." Ambrose said as he poured himself a drink and walked over to the seats around the fire where his aunts were sitting. Zelda had been reading and didn't look up but Hilda paused and looked up from her knitting to look at him.

"From (Y/N)?" She asked curiously.

"Yes. Due to the evidence from the attack on her home, her house arrest has been lifted and she is able to visit." Ambrose sounded a little nervous as he explained. This caught Zelda's interest. Rarely was her nephew nervous?

"When will this pleasant occasion occur?" She asked, flicking her cigarette ash into a nearby ashtray.

"Next week." Ambrose said quietly. Zelda nodded and Hilda looked rather pleased.

"Well, that's enough time. We served up a nice dinner. Have the place spick and span." Hilda said with a smile.

"I don't think the house will be the issue." Ambrose said as he tapped his fingers against the side of his glass.

"Well, Faustus is gone. What else could there be?" Zelda asked. On cue, Sabrina hurried into the house calling out for everyone to help her. "Besides that?"

"Me. She might not like me." Ambrose pointed out. Hilda scoffed as she put her knitting away. Zelda had wanted to say something cleverly cutting and comforting but Sabrina was rather insistent that she needed urgent help. Hilda squeezed his shoulder.

"I'm sure she'll love you, dear. We all do." She smiled at him and then hurried after Zelda and Sabrina who had become up in arms about Sabrina's emergency out in the hall.

Sabrina found Ambrose alone in the graveyard. He was looking out over the early morning mist and seemed rather jittery. More so than she'd ever seen him before. "Are you alright, Ambrose?" She asked.

"Fine." He answered quickly. He turned to face her and she could see that he had a half-finished coffee in his hand.

"Are you sure? Isn't today the day (Y/N) arrives?" She asked and he sighed.

"Yes. You don't need to remind me. The Aunties have been preparing for days. I. I am trying not to think about it too much."

"You know each other rather well Ambrose. If she didn't like you she wouldn't have sent you so many letters over those years." Sabrina pointed out. Ambrose stood as she walked away and hummed as if that hadn't occurred to him. "We're all ready for the visit, you know. Plus. We helped save (Y/N) and the Aunties convinced the 'powers that be' to review (Y/N)'s house arrest sentence. I'd say you've gone above and beyond and will get on famously." Sabrina smiled as she headed back towards the house and hurried up the steps. Unprepared to go inside yet Ambrose sat on the steps of the porch and watched as the mist cleared into the afternoon.

It was much later in the afternoon as Ambrose and Zelda finished lunch together that Hilda hurried into the room.

"There's a bit of a situation. I received word from (Y/N)." Hilda explained. Zelda saw the way Ambrose stiffened beside her.

"Has she changed her mind about coming?" He asked.

"No. Apparently, there has been a bit of an issue. It was more of a distress signal. We should get going to the edge of town. She's close." Hilda explained.

"Well, why didn't you say that first!" Zelda scolded. She set her cup of tea down and hurried through the house. "Honestly Hilda. Sabrina! Sabrina! We must leave."

"What's going on?" Sabrina asked as she hurried downstairs, Salem close behind.

"There's an incident and we need to help (Y/N)." Hilda explained. Sabrina didn't need to be told twice and soon the Spellmans were following Hilda's directions.

Ambrose's first glimpse of you was as you ran, turning backfiring spells rapidly as your pursuers. Even with them hot on your heels, your accuracy was deadly and the spells so efficient he imagined that there must have been hundreds of people after you. The Spellmans worked together to ward off the area and the followers backed off.

"That was amazing." Ambrose said as he hurried over to you.

"Thank you. That wading spell was fantastic too." You gushed and smiled at him. It caused him to crack a wide smile too.

"I'm sorry that you came here in such a rushed manner." Ambrose said softly as the group moved back towards the Spellman home.

"It was my own fault. My house was searched after your aunts helped. They didn't find what they were looking for because I hid it. It's a spell book that is said to be written by the dark lord." You explained. Zelda gasped and raised a hand to her chest in shock while Hilda looked rather impressed.

"Well thank the dark lord we reached you in time." Zelda said quickly as the last leg of the trip back to the Spellman house was reached. "We should look it over and see why they want it so terribly."

"That's the thing. I can't open the book. There is another one with the spell to open it and the other books. I've only found one. I know where another one was but that was years ago." you explained.

"We'll be able to figure it out. For now, we should just enjoy being together." Ambrose offered as he and Sabrina led you inside. Zelda and Hilda stayed outside to place more wards over the house.
