Buzzing streets, drunk people, blinding streetlights. What my weekends have looked like so far.
It's not the average sight for most high school students.
But it is the way I met him.I still remember how we met.
It all makes entrance when I've got nothing to do. Having made no plans for my birthday, I decided to go to a nightclub for the first time. I've been to bars, just not the ones with lights and music playing as loud as ever.
Thinking there's still 2 hours until I'm 18. Should I drink away those hours?
Being an alcoholic at 17 has been rough. I'm a full on addict. I depend on it to get trough days.
Skipping school because of a bad drunk aftermath is common.Having to wait anything out, I have alcohol on my mind. Drink away hours, has been a stupid resolve.
Since I also drink away the whole day once I get ahold of a good drink.
I also drink away a good morning to wake up by.I live for alcohol, sometimes I wonder if alcohol lives for me. I guess it does, since that one bar I go to still sells a drink that nobody else has been buying. If it wasn't for me, they would've taken it out of stock.
I love drinking so much that it is the way that I met the love of my life.
It really makes me think if I should let go of such an addiction, it has brought me another thing to live by.As I sat on the barstool, resting my head, fidgeting with the glass. Wondering if I should go home yet. I asked the bartender:
"Is it my birthday yet?"
"When is your birthday?" He asks
"13th."
"Ma'am, it is the 16th, 1 am."
My whole world was shaken up. Since I had drunken away the last 4 days.
That's when I realized, even in the poor state I was in, that I had no control over my addiction.
