Shit shit shit! I am running so far behind for work! Looking at my clock on the dashboard I see I have 5 minutes to clock in and get to the shop. I dialed Dan's number and put my phone on speaker as I shut my car off and gathered my purse and apron. After the second ring he picked up. "Don't you dare tell me you are calling out of work!" Dan hissed on the other end of the line.
"No! Not at all!" I spoke quickly. "But can you clock me in? I don't have time to clock in at the storage room and get to the shop on time!"
I heard a huge sigh of relief from Dan. "No just come to the shop. I'll have my mom fix the hours later." He instructed.
"Awesome!" I yelled excitedly. "I'll see you in 3..2..1" I spoke as I walked into the pizza shop making Dan laugh as he saw me enter.
" I didn't think you were going to end up coming in today after what happened last night with douchebag." He said as his face reddened in anger. I leaned over the counter and handed my purse to him so he could put it under the counter for me.
Rolling my eyes I responded, "That asshole is not going to scare me away from my job."
Dan looked at me with a hard face. "I know you don't shy away from responsibility easily, however I should inform you that THAT douchebag is out of a job."
I stopped mid tying my apron and stood there staring at him in shock. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, I know you probably didn't want me to, but I told my mom what happened last night. I don't think I've ever seen her so angry. She was cursing in Italian and slamming things down in the kitchen for hours last night. She called Dave this morning and informed her that he was fired and if he so much as steps foot into her pizza shop again she would call the cops." He answered.
I stood there picturing his sweet little Italian mother being so pissed off and smiled. "Aww I love your mom!" I gushed at the thought of her acting that way in my defense.
Dan started laughing. "Hell, she loves you too! She even told me that if I ever pull a stunt like that she'll castrate me." He said with wide eyes. "I'm pretty sure she wishes you were her daughter."
"Well one could only wish! I would have much rather her have been my mother than my non-existent one." I retorted as I walked behind the counter putting my apron on. "Is anyone working with us today?"

"Matt will be in a little bit later, but that's it."

"Well at least I like him, although I could do without seeing his girlfriend. She has a real ugly personality." I said as I thought back to the last time I saw her. She was pretty enough, in her own way. Very petite, brunette, she looked athletic, but she caked on her makeup. She apparently didn't like me, because every time she came into the shop she made sure to order me to stay away from her boyfriend as soon as he wasn't around. It was annoying as hell.

"Yeah Aleah is always so jealous. Did you try to steal her man or something?" Dan asked laughing under his breath.

I smacked his shoulder playfully, "of course not! He's not my type at all anyway."

"ohhhhhh..and what is your type Dini?" Dan asked while wiggling his eyebrows.

"Honestly?" I started as I started filling the salad bar supplies that were running low. "I have no idea anymore. I'm just done with guys for a bit. I think I just. need to chill out and worry about myself for a little while. Guys completely suck. But I do know that Matt definitely is not my type."

"Ouch!" Dan spoke animatedly as he clutched his heart like he just got shot. "Not all of us guys are dicks. You just happen to be attracted to the assholes and not the good guys."

I laughed at his response and walked to the counter to pick up a rag for wiping the tables. Making my way over to the tables I started wiping them down to get ready for the rush of people that normally come in for dinner time.

The night moved rather quickly as more and more people came in placing orders. I was busy running back and forth wiping the tables off and bringing people their orders. Around 8pm when things slowed down, I yelled over to Dan, "Dan I'm taking a break! Just ten minutes!"
