Chapter 20- Different?

Note: Kanchan and Shagun are friends in here

Quickly standing up from his chair, he sprinted towards Anokhi, who was now laying unconscious on Shagun's lap.

With creased eyebrows, worry-laced eyes, he quickly sat by her side and cradled her upper body in his arms, cupping her cheeks and calling out her name.

"Shagun, quick! Water!" Shaurya said tensely

"Make her sleep on the bed Shaurya, she won't wake up for a while now." she stated calmly

"Huh?"

"Don't 'huh' me, do as I say."

Shaurya carried her delicate frame, and lied her down carefully on the bed

"airhead, did you forget? I put sedative in that water" Shagun said with a lop sided smile, "I see you have taken quite the liking for her"

Shaurya, now seated in his seat in an exasperated form, with eyes closed and fingers massaging his forehead, side-eyed Shagun.

"Liking?"

"Don't you see? haww" Shagun acted fake surprised

"Cut to the point. Will you?"

"You weren't quite the emotional type, losing your calm over a girl who just fainted, even though you know we gave her sedatives, oh wait you forgot...you looked like you were about to cry a few minutes ago..." she stated as a matter of fact

"i-i- wasn't about to cry...I was just...worried...she is a patient and was acting ber-berserk a while ago so..." a reddish tinge appearing on his cheeks ever so slightly

"yeah yeah go on, I am all ears" Shagun said while resting her elbow on the arm of the chair and the back of her palm aligning to her cheek, also a glint of mischief in her eyes

"Shut it. You are still annoying as ever" he muttered

"and it still pleasures me to annoy you."

"She won't be able to remember you. Ever." Shagun continued after a brief silence

"Huh?" he looked at her questioningly

She stood up from her seat, and walked towards the sleeping body and tenderly removed the locks to the sides, behind her ears, that were falling on her closed eyes.

"She is pretty. Isn't she?"

"sh-she is, y-yeah"

"If you stutter like that, you would never be able to confess your love for her" Shagun deadpanned

"I.AM.NOT-"

"or what if she has a lover already?" she continued without paying heed to Shaurya's protests

"She doesn't" he was quick to answer

"Ahh ohokk I will just accept that assuming you have done all your research" she teased

"But then again loving you back is quite a headache, considering that shit family of yours" she stated ever so obnoxiously

"Think before you speak...Shagun." he said glaring at her

"Oh! I beg your pardon 'the Sabherwal heir' for I have sinned of offending you" she apologized sarcastically while quoting her hands in the air

"But do you really think anyone is happy there? You look tired-"

"Did Kanchan tell you all this?"

"That sad bro of yours is destroying my friend's life as well."
