It's noon and everyone is either running or jumping from here to there because it's rush hour in the hospital... Due to bad weather, there are a lot of accident cases that keep coming and everyone from the staff to the nurses to the doctors every damn is stressed right now.
"Dr Kang...Dr. Kang... There is an emergency " as I heard nurse Anna running towards me I ran towards the patient she is bringing along...
"What is the case???" I asked Anna and she briefed me as we both along with other staff took the patient towards the operation theatre.
"Accident... His car got hit by a truck...the truck driver ran away immediately... The cops bring him here " she started with the brief...
"Is there anyone else with him?" I looked back and saw a lady running along with us...
"Yes...doc... His wife is there too.." I looked back at his wife...how come she doesn't have any injuries??..
"Anna! Do the CT scan and check his heart rate, pulse, blood pressure etc... I will be there in 2mint... Now hurry up " ...
I looked at his wife and she stopped and keeps crying... "Doc...please...please save my husband... I am begging you...".
She is crying so much but the odd thing I noticed is her head... It has a bump... As if ... Oh my God...
" nurse...nurse..". I shouted at the nurse and one of the nurses came running... "Yes..doc... " the nurse looked at me horrified... " take her to Dr lee...I think there is a blood clot in her brain... Do the ECG of her brain before that... "
I instruct the nurse and ran after my patient before it was too late...
After 2 hours of the surgery, the patient is finally stable. Oh thank goodness...
"Anna! Transfer the patient to the ICU ward and keep on checking his pulse rate n all... " I instruct the head nurse as I walk out from the OT...
"And... What about his wife? " I asked Anna... "Dr Lee must have attended her Dr I am not sure...I was in OT with you " she replied before bowing toward me to went back to the OT to do the task I told her before...
I walked toward the reception area and asked them about the man's wife...
"Dr Lee is doing her surgery..." I node in understanding...
"Ok... I am in my cabin...do inform me if there is any patient for me right now..." As I told her she checked something on the computer and told me as for now there are no patients...
Ufff such a long day already... I placed my bottom on my office chair and breath in and out... It's only 2 in the afternoon but it feels like already late night... Rainy seasons are always one of the biggest problems in Seoul... There are way more accidents happening during monsoon and it's sometimes heartbreaking as well as exhausting to see more patients than usual... I am a doctor and I love treating people but deep down I hope nobody should need treatment...everybody should have a healthy life... But being ill is also a part of life that we can't escape from... However, I hate monsoon no matter what...yeah it's good for the earth and harvesting but it sometimes tools a lot from people as well ... Speaking of which it reminds me to call my mother and asked her whereabouts...I know she can be a bit reckless...
