"Jeni!" Avani yelled with a smile seeing me getting out of the Uber. 

"Vani!" I yelled back sitting my bags down and running to hug my best friend.

"I missed you" she said as we swayed from left to right.

"I missed you too. So much."

"Hey Jenisis" I looked up to see Anthony laughing at our reunion.

"Hey Ant. How are you?" I said giving him a hug as well.

"Great until you arrived to steal my girlfriend" he teased.

"I get you. I was reuniting with my bestie until her annoying boyfriend showed up"

"Until her annoying boyfriend showed up" he mocked me using a funny tone.

"Nice comeback Ant"

"Thanks, I try" he replies as if it were a sincere compliment.

"Where's Griff?" I ask looking between the two.

"Probably inside with his lazy ass, not helping move this stuff, he motions to the boxes outside.

I laughed as I grabbed my bags following Avani and Anthony inside. The double doors opened to a tall entry area with a staircase and an elevator. I stopped and stared for a minute just taking in  the size and beauty of the house. 

"Crazy right? We even have our own elevator" I heard a very familiar voice say. I turned around and saw the one boy I didn't expect to see until tomorrow. 

"Jaden? I thought you weren't coming until tomorrow?"

"Why? I've lived with Bryce for a few months already, so why wouldn't I be where he is?" He laughed.

"I really don't know. Avani told me that Anthony said-"

"He was probably just fuckin around. I don't know why it was me though." He laughed coming over to hug me quickly pulling away, leaving his hands on my waist. "You didn't tell her right?" He asked with his eyebrow raised. 

"Tell her? God no" I said shaking my head. Looking around to see that Avani and Athony had walked off.

"Good. I just- sorry."

"Its okay." I smiled softly at him and then pulled him into a proper hug." He smelled like his usual cologne and faintly of weed, of course.

"So how have you been?" He asked as I pulled away, although his hands still rested lightly on my waist. 

"Nothing out of the usual. What about you rockstar?" I asked remembering him telling me about his song Comatose the last time we spoke. It hasn't been announced yet though.

"I'm doing good" he smiled at the nickname. "Excited for the release."

"So," I looked down to his hands that were still holding my waist, "how are things with Madison?"

"Right," he nodded slowly removing his hands from my waist and sliding them into the pockets of his jeans. "we're doing good" he awkwardly smiled.

"Listen Ja-"

"Can we pretend this didn't happen? I don't know why I left my hands" he said looking down.

"Yeah, of course."

Narrator

Every time they were together something like this happened. Neither would think to act on it though, even before Mads was involved.

"Is that Jenisis?" I heard Bryce's familiar voice.
