SonAmy: promise

Oneshot

Sonic rushed into the hospital. "WHERE IS SHE?!" He yelled; which caused an echo. A doctor and nurse walked up to him. "Sir' please, calm down, who are you looking for?" The nurse asked. "MY GIRLFRIEND, AMY ROSE!!!! WHERE IS SHE?!?!" He yelled into their face. Then he got pulled back. "Sonic, calm down, let them speak." His best friend, Tails told him. "CALM DOWN?! CALM DOWN!!!! HOW CAN I BE-" he then caught sight of the girls in the waiting room. He stormed over to them. "YOU ALL WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP HER SAFE!!!" He yelled, and caused Cream to cry. "Sonic! We SAVED her!" Sally yelled and comforted Cream. "THIS IS YOUR FAULT!! YOU CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF A GIRLS NIGHT!!" Sonics throat was starting to hurt. Sally kept quiet, having nothing else to say. Tails and the other boys (now men) came over. Khan saw Sally's red face and tears and sat next to her. "We were just swimming." Rouge started to talk and Shadow saw her in tears and hugged her. "And then... Amy started screaming. Something had grabbed her." Rouge stuttered and squeezed Shadow tightly. Cream started to cry more at the memory of Amy. "We dove down...to get her... And *hick* *sob*. A long piece of seaweed was attached to her ankles." Cream looked up at Tails for more comfort. He took one step forward and Cream lunged forward onto him, crying heavily. With half the group in tears, Blaze took control of the rest of the story. "We cut it off and we dragged her onto the sand. Sh-She wasn't...wasn't breathing. And we tried to do CPR. We got some water out, but she wouldn't wake up, so we drove her to the hospital." Silver ran to her side before she to, started to cry. "We tried to save her..." Tikal said and looked up at Sonic. "I'm so sorry, Sonic." She said. Sonics eyes blazed with fire. "Tried to save her?! SHE COULD BE DYING!!!" Sonic yelled at her. "Hey! That also means she could be alive! They saved her Sonic!" Knuckles yelled angrily. Sonic whipped around angrily and walked away to talk to the doctor and nurse.

Sally and Khan stared angrily at Sonic. "He's to caught up in his own grief to see all of ours..." She cried into Khans shoulder. "Shh...it's okay, you all DID save her, Sal." Khan told her quietly. Sally sighed and took a deep breath. "We all need to be strong" she announced to everyone. "When Amy wakes up, she'll need her friends to be strong." Sally said to them. They all nodded and tried to stop crying.

Sonic had found out that Amy was in a coma. She could be in it for a few hours, a few weeks, all the way to years. Of course, Sonic wasn't happy about this. He yelled at the doctor to do something. Anything that would save his beloved Amy. "Please...you don't know what it's been like!! You don't know what she is to me!!" Sonic cried and yelled at the doctor. "Sir' were doing the best we can-" "DO BETTER!!!" Sonic cried out. He fell to the floor and cried. Not caring if anyone saw him crying.
He just wanted Amy back. Her soft hair. Her warm smile that was always on her face. He wanted her back.
"Can I-I see her?" Sonic asked through his tears. The doctor nodded and the nurse showed him to Amy's room. The walls of the hospital were supposed to be comforting, but the cream and tan color of the walls made him remember Amy. He would forever hate hospitals.
The nurse opened the door and let Sonic in first. "You should know that during some coma's the patient can hear everything. Try to be strong, for her." The nurse told him. Sonic shoved past her. The room was filled with flowers and get well cards. A pile of stuff from her house was in the corner. Stuffed animals, pictures, some jewelry. She was laying in bed peacefully. Sonic saw a large bandage across her head and ran to the chair that was beside her bed. "Amy?" He asked her and held her hand. "Amy...please wake up, it's me, Sonikku." He tried to smile, but he couldn't. He cried into her hand. Whispering that she was okay. He felt her grip his hand. He cried more and then tried to stop. "I'll never leave your side, Amy. I promise...you'll never get hurt like this EVER again."
A few hours later the nurse walked into the waiting room. She explained that they all could go see her, but to leave Sonic alone. Let him grieve. And if he started yelling to leave. "Why?" Sally asked angrily. "He's not even-" "He has the mind of a sad boyfriend. He doesn't want ANYTHING to come near her. Especially if he thinks it would hurt her." The nurse explained. "But we would never hurt Amy!" Cream and Rouge cried out. Blaze and a Tikal just cried more into their boyfriends. They glanced at each other and then they all followed the nurse into Amy's room.
They held in their gasps as they walked in. Sonic was still crying and holding her hand close to his lips. He was praying and telling himself that she was alright. Tails stepped forward, but Cream held him back. She shook her head and Tails walked back to her. "I'm so worried about him." He whispered to Cream. Cream nodded, knowing that Sonic was going to have to hardest time coping with this. "He'll...be okay" she told Tails. They all just stood there, watching Sonic cry and staring at Amy.
Two hours later Sonic stood up, but before he did he kissed Amy's hand. He walked over to the group of friends. They all seemed to hold their breath. He stopped in front of Sally and Khan. He wouldn't meet their eyes, so he hung his head and looked to his right. Staring at his shoes and the floor. "I'm...sorry for yelling..." He said and gritted his teeth. "I-I just...need her back..." He started to tear up, so he turned his back to them. Sally looked over at Khan and the others. They all nodded at her to tell him they forgave him. Sally turned back around to see Sonic back beside Amy. "We'll tell him later. Let's go and let him be." Blaze said to the group. Silver put his arm around her and kissed her cheek. He was thinking that he was glad it wasn't her in that coma. He immediately regretted thinking that, but he still found comfort in it. They all left and let Sonic be alone.

Amy could hear everything and she felt like crying. Sonic wouldn't stop crying and she had listened to Sonics apology. She pondered on what he could had said. She hoped it wasn't to mean. She tried to hold his hand, but only a like movement would come from her hand. "Just let me speak to him." She begged to the Lord. The only thing she could do was control her breathing and she could squeeze her hand. She tried to hold her breath, but then Sonic thought she was dying. So, she didn't do that anymore. She tried to move her lips, but it's like she had forgotten how to. She could hear Sonic whispering to her. "Amy...please wake up...I-I need you here. I love you, Ames. Don't do this to me!" He cried and looked up at her face. Amy wanted to wake up. She wanted to hug his neck and kiss him. "I guess what you said was right. That as long as we were together, nothing would hurt us. I-I'll make sure we're together...forever." Amy felt Sonic kiss her forehead then move down to her lips. "I love you, Amy." He said and kissed her again. Amy tried to say that she loved him to, but her lips still wouldn't move. "I know I said I wouldn't leave you, but I'll be right back." He told her.
Amy waited for Sonic for a few minutes. She didn't really have a choice anyways. When he came back he put a small box in their hands. "You know what this is? Inside is a wedding ring. I was going to propose to you when you came back. I better do it now, huh?" He tried to smile. He opened the box and placed a ring on her finger. "Amy Rose...will you marry me? If you agree squeeze my hand. If you don't...just don't." He held her hand and Amy squeezed it tightly. Sonic cried and said thank you. "I'll stay beside you. I'll never leave you. I will never say harsh words that will hurt you. I will protect you with my life. From now on, you are my world." He was saying his vows to her. "Ames...I am going to stay here with you. I'll eat here, I'll sleep here, I will live here." He smiled at her. Amy wasn't sure wether to feel happy or sad. Good thing she couldn't smile or frown.

About a week later Sonic was still beside Amy in the hospital. He would go and run around for awhile, but he would always come back to Amy's room. He slept in the waiting room and ate whatever their friends brought him. They had tried to get him to leave once, but Sonic started to yell and cry. "NO!! I NEED TO BE HERE WHEN SHE WAKES UP!!!" He had yelled. When she wakes up, he was so certain she would wake up. He never thought of her being in a coma forever. And even if she was...he wouldn't care. He promised to stay beside her, and Sonic the Hedgehog never breaks a promise. Sonic woke up early in the waiting room chair. He stared at his watch and went to go to Amy's room. He walked in and slimed at her. He had grown custom to seeing her like this. He sat down and poured himself a coffee and made Amy a coffee cup to. He knew she couldn't drink it, but if she woke up during breakfast; he was certain Amy wouldn't want to be tube fed as usual. "I went out for another run last night. The scenery was amazing. I would've gotten you flowers, but they wouldn't let me in with them. Something about allergies." He smirked and held her hand. "Too bad...they were so beautiful. I thought of you when I saw them. They were like roses, but had yellow and purple dots on them. I took a picture though. I'll show you later." He smiled at her. He leaned over and kissed her forehead. "Our friends are coming over to see you today. But at different times sadly. Shadow, Rouge, Tails, and Cream are coming all together. It was kinda like a double date thing they did. Sally and Khan are coming over for lunch then. They are planning on getting married a few months from now. And...and...we'll be getting married soon to, right?" Sonic felt Amy squeeze his hand. He smiled and tried to not cry. "Yeah, and then Silver, Blaze, Knuckles, and Tikal are coming for dinner." Sonic told her. His stomach rumbled. "I'll be right back, Ames" he smiled at her. Then as he was about to exit the room he heard something. "Mmm...S-Son..." Sonic turned around and ran back to her. "Amy? Amy! I'm here! Say something again!" He hugged her and cried. "Sonic...I-I can...talk." She slowly opened her eyes and saw Sonics blue fur. He was sobbing over her shoulder. "I can see you!" She exclaimed and cried as well. "Oh my god!" She cried and felt his fur. "I-I can FEEL you!!" Sonic held her so tightly she almost couldn't breath. "S-Sonic...let me breath!" Amy gasped. Sonic releases her and stared into her jade green eyes. "I thought I'd never see those eyes again." He cried into her. Amy looked into Sonics emerald green eyes. "I-I always just wanted to see you. I love you Sonic. I-I want to get married!" They embraced each other affectionately.
