The District

Chapter 1

Lacey, Savannah, & Emma are Juniors at Sunhill High school in North Carolina and they have been best friends since kindergarten. It's the first day of school and the girls are at school walking to find each other.

-------------------Lacey's POV--------------------

"Heyyyyyy" I said when I saw Emma and Savannah talking.

"LACEY!!!! You're finally here"

"Yes, Savanna I am"

*Bell Rings*

"Alright, see you later guys, text me" I told them.

"Kk" Emma and Savannah yelled back in sync.

I took a seat in science which was my First period class.

"Is this seat taken?" A guys said while pointing to the seat next to mine.

"No, it's all yours" Oh my gosh this guys has the most amazing eyes I have ever seen. They are brown with flakes of green and little sparkles of silver in them. He has dark brown hair that's short but the perfect length.

"I'm Aidan" he said

"I'm Lacey" I said while shaking his hand.

The rest of class we sat there talking while we colored an animal cell with facts about ourselves. I learned that Aidan has one younger sister named Lana and he just moved here from Washington State.
I had told him that I had a younger brother named Charles that I moved here from London when I was 3 years old.

*Bell Rings*

"See you tomorrow class" Mr. Chad said.

"When do you have lunch?" I asked Aidan as I threw my back pack on my back.

"After fifth period" he responded.

"Me too, wanna sit with me and my friends."

"Yeah, thanks"

"Cool" I said while walking out of the classroom and into the hallway. I walked to my second period class which was English and I sat down with Emma and Savannah.

"Guys guess what?!?" I said to them.

"What? Emma asked me.

"I met the nicest and cutest guy during Science, his name is Aidan and he just moved here from Washington state"

"Wow, that's a far move" Savannah said.

"Yeah it is. Well anyways, he has lunch the same time as we do and I asked him to sit with us. Is that ok?" I asked to checked with them.

"Of course" Savannah said.

"Yeah that's fine" Emma said after a few seconds. She looked like she was dazing off into a dream.

"Yay, thanks guys"

-----------------lunch time----------------

Emma and Savannah were already sitting so I went and sat across the table with them. I saw Aidan walk in and I stood up and motioned for him to come over.

"Aidan, this is Emma and Savannah" I said pointing to them.

"Hi" Aidan said.

" Sit down!!" I commanded to Aidan.

"So Aidan, do you like the school?" Emma asked him.

"Yeah it's good I guess" he responded.

"Why only good?" Savannah asked.

"Well all my friends are back in Washington."

"Why'd you move here?" Savannah asked.

"My moms job moved here" Aidan replied.

"Oh." Savannah said.

"Yep." He said.

"Awkward silence" Emma said after a minute and we all started laughing. Emma was the one in our group to always have us laugh no matter what.

"Oh yeah, Aidan, put your number in my phone" I said while handing him my phone.

"Okay, but you have to give me yours too" he said. I took his phone and entered my number in and made my contact name 'Lacey👑👼'.

"There ya go" I said while we swapped our phones back.

*Bell Rings*

"See ya later guys! I love you Em and Savannah" I yelled as they walked away.

"So, what class do you have next Aidan? I have art with Mrs. McClien."

"So do I" Aidan said smiling.

*Late Bell Rings*

"Let's go!" I yelled grabbing Aidan's hand and running while trying to dodge other people.

"You're late" Mrs. McClien said as we walked in.

"Im sorry Mrs. McClien, Aidan is new this year and he hasn't learned the trick to open the broken lockers yet" I lied.

"Very well, take a seat." She said.

"Thank you" I replied. Aidan and sat down and started cracking up wile the rest of the class was talking.

"Attention class!" Mrs. McClien said while hitting a ruler on the chalk board. The whole class fell silent.

"Partner up, we are going to be doing a one foot tall sculpture of a flower in clay. Today I want you to sketch it out on this paper" she said while handing out large paper.

"It MUST be in full detail. And if your drawing isn't in full detail, that's fine but the clay sculpture must be. Get started" She said.

"Wow, she's strict." Aidan said.

"She'll loosen up, she's just grouchy the first few days of school." I told him.

"That's good news" He said laughing.

I pulled out my phone to text in my group chat with Emma and Savannah.

L- Guys are we practicing after school?

E- I can

S- yeah I can too

L- okay, meet me when they dismiss us, I'll drive us to the studio.

My parents let me turn our old small guest house into a studio when they starting building a new one. We have 4 guitars, 6 microphones, 1 drum set, and few other small instruments as well as multitrack mixing console (sound board). They let me do it because my grandma passed away and I had been really upset about it. They needed to find a way to cheer me up because I was depressed for 3 months, so Emma and Savannah helped them surprise me. The three of us soon started messing around and decided to become a band, and we called ourselves The District.
