I wish I could tell you that I kept looking for him. But Dear Reader this is not a story where the guy gets the girl and they live happily ever after in a castle with rainbows and unicorns for all of eternity. This is a story about the terrifying reality of being in exile. So instead of me grieving the loss of my entire Sector and the disappearance of my best friend, I'm writing a journal of what my last days were like in the forest outside of Stonehenge. This might be the stupidest thing I've ever done but welcome to my life, Dear Reader. The only reason I'm doing this is that there are only 14 days left until the bounty for my Sector rises to $70,000. So why not show you Dear Reader how and why I've torn down Stonehenge brick by brick? Let's start at the beginning, shall we?
5,728 days ago Sector Willow was exiled from the walls of Stonehenge. And for you non math geeks that's about 15 years ago. You're probably wondering what Stonehenge is or what the Sectors are. Well, Dear Reader Stonehenge is a kingdom that is surrounded by a thick forest with massive trees. The kingdom was separated into six divisions... Wallace, Acetrail, Steeliest, Rush, Hawkes, and Willow. My Division, or Sector as the people who hate Stonehenge say, was Willow. The Sectors are named after the 'boss' of each division. Well, everything was fine in Stonehenge until the ruler, King Tylander, got into an argument with my father. For a bit of context, my father was the 'boss' of Willow. I'm not entirely sure what that argument was about.. but I do know that the argument uprooted our lives forever. You see Dear Reader the king was a terrible man. He was the human definition of a narcissist and King Tylander was ruthless. He didn't like being told the opposite opinion from his. But my father was just as hard-headed as him. And that's what got us all exiled.
Forbidden to step another foot on Stonehenge soil. And since we were sent out in the forest with the monsters we had no other choice but to take to the trees. My father led us to the tallest of trees deep in the forest and we built our village amongst the branches above. I don't remember much about the beginning of exile but the only reason for that is that I was three when we were exiled. I wish I remembered more. What my father wrote in his journal, was amazing. He wrote about how difficult it was at first for us all to adjust. But soon we figured out how to utilize the branches and the coverage the leaves gave us.
We thrived up there with the birds and small critters. Well.. we did. That was before the incidents. Three in total. The first incident was my father's fault. He decided to take a group of around 20 to 25 down to study the monsters and possibly hunt down there. If you're not stupid you can guess what happened. Yup, my father 'heroically' killed himself. Not intentionally of course but going down to study the monsters is just plain stupid. I never saw bodies. I was too young.. around 8 possibly 9. The elders of the village kept the younger children away from the massacre as they loved to put it. After that day I and my best friend in the whole world Cole decided to make Safe Houses. There were six, one for each division. We made them about a mile and a half apart with a huge system of pulleys to get to each Safe House. I let all the important people know about it since I was the mini leader now that dad had passed.
Then there was the second incident. There was a group of 15 people who were going to do maintenance on the Safe House closest to Wallace. But halfway there... the line snapped. All 15 fell down into the pit below. which we soon found out was a monster pit. that was when I was 12. Now Dear Reader have you ever witnessed 40 deaths? it takes a real toll on your mental health. especially for a 12-year-old. there were only 5 of us left at this point. It turns out that without a leader to guide you on what to do and how to live can drive people insane.
That brings us to incident number three. 3 of the 5 of us decided to go to our furthest safe house to get away from all the hunters and monsters. Well, like incident before the pulleys seemed to have broken. What we did know at the time was that they broke from the monsters. After me and Cole watched the only people we knew fall down and get snatched by the monsters we decided to get away from the Main Base Camp and live in the Safe House closest to Wallace. Me and Cole were traumatized but we soon got over it and we're living our best lives together in the Safe House. That was before Cole wanted to go to the Main Camp. I tried to talk him out of it. I really did... but he went anyways. I watched as he went to camp. He got there safely thankfully but when I turned to get my water, he vanished. Evaporated even. I haven't been able to find him. I've looked for weeks for Cole. He just disappeared.
That brings us to present day. After all that you probably have many many questions. Like who am I? What are you talking about? What is this? Is this a joke? A fable?
Well Dear Reader all of these questions will be answered. But there isn't much time. Since I'm the only one left... the bounty is quite high. $70,000 to be exact. Well, in 14 days it will be. Which is why I'm writing this. In my remaining 14 days I plan to take down all of Stonehenge down. Which is why I'm writing this. After I take the world as I know it down, I'm going to be killed. You'll figure out who I am and all your questions will be answered. Trust me.
Now that your all caught up. Welcome to Sector Willow Dear Reader... Let's take down the world.
