I looked up at the sky as it darkened turning an eerie black,  the air didn’t fell right, it felt dirty like there something that shouldn’t be there was, a shiver passed through my body  as  I stood up and looked around, black eyes seemed to glare at me from in the trees, recollections of the fate full day that I truly lost my mind were gone I scrambled up the hill as fast as I could, running straight back into the big house,  my boots slapped on the tiled floor, Dylan and his family were in the kitchen all of them looking worried, the worry disappeared when they looked at me Dylan walked to me and tried to give me a hug but I pushed him away.

“I should never have come here, I’m sorry” I said softly running back up the stairs I slid the boots of  and swapped the  tutu for jeans I put the boots back on and grabbed a bag stuffing it with jeans tees underwear and a few jumpers.  I ran through my suitcases until I found the gun and dagger that had been left to me, I slipped the tiny box my mother had given me into my bag and went to the jewellery box taking out a small locket that she had always worn, I slipped it over my head  and felt the cool metal rest against the skin just bellow my collar bone, like me my mother had a gift for the sight,  the locket was a gift to warn her of danger it was given to her after I was born,  when there was danger it would go cold as ice, but if there was none it would be warm.  For my whole life as long as I could remember people had been trying to kill me, my last name was Storm but Annabelle was not my real name.  My whole  life was a story mum and I had made up when I turned 12  my dad and mum had split up a month before I was born my dad had only ever met me after I turned 12 there are only 4 people who know the true story and one of them is dead.

I marched down the stairs as I hit the last one the door was covered by people, Lucas and Marcus cautiously walked out of one of the rooms, they took in the scene and looked at me, their faces turning ghostly pale.

“They’re here?” Lucas asked already knowing the answer.

“Yes and you can’t come. This is my battle now, and I’m not letting anyone else die trying to protect me, so whatever you three have planed-“ I glanced at my grandmother who looked  like she was ready to conduct a storm “forget it, help me or get in my road and so help  me god you will regret it. it applies to you too Dylan”  I said keeping my voice hard and cold, I didn’t like threatening the people I loved but if it meant they would listen then I really couldn’t do anything about it.

“Think it through Rouge; do you really want to face them alone?” Marcus was pissed you could see it in his face.

“It’s me they want and I’m not going to let another death rest on my head”

“Rouge your being stupid you don’t know what these people are capable of” My grandmother burst.

“Yes I do. None of you have to see what has happened in your past lives at the worst of times, I know what happens and I don’t plan on letting it happen again” I told them,

“If you’re so smart then tell us what happens we can help you” Lucas burst.

“You wanna know what happens fine. Everyone who tries to help me dies, everyone who has ever loved me is gone in an instant and I watch them all fall to their bloody deaths, then I am left weak and defenceless and at their mercy I can do nothing as they rape and abuse me, they take everything from me, even my voice,  and then they torture me to death, slowly and painfully I die, only to be born again, and forced to suffer the same fate over and over again, as it has been for hundreds of years,  I remembered something last night.” I looked Dylan’s dad in the eyes “your Uncle Leon tried to help me so many years ago,  they took his wife and his only child, and murdered them he couldn’t  do a god damn thing to stop them, they held him down and made him watch. And the same thing will happen to all of you unless you get over your overprotective crap and move” I growled looking at each person’s face.  Mr. Ryder’s face was sad and thoughtful, until a familiar voice broke the silence

“she is telling the truth, it has happened the same way for a thousand years since our kind began,  she is the only one who give the broken the power to shift back, they can only ever shift in her presents”  I looked over at Leon Ryder, dark shadows were under his eyes and his face was hallow.  And his dark brown hair duller than it had ever been, he looked like he had worked hard to maintain his muscles, and his eyes showed the look of a man set for revenge.

“I’m surprised you’re still alive” I told him calmly, he smiled a devilish smile.

“ you’ve been through so much more this time around every father in your past lives knew nothing about our kind, none of them ever laid an uncaring finger on you, you were always a delicate Rose Rouge.”  His voice was low and hard to hear, but I heard every word, I nodded my head and stepped down the last step.

“You have to do this alone Rouge. But I will be behind you, you make the rules now” he finished stronger.

“Everybody stop and somebody please explain” Dylan burst.

“She can’t be” Mr. Ryder mumbled under his breath.

“She is the one and the only” Leon finished.

“Somebody please tell me what is going on Annabelle please” Dylan said

“My name is not Annabelle Storm. Storm is my dad surname and I took it, but my real name is Rouge Rose. The one from  the werewolf legends that are told to little pups to make them stay close to their pack, your council  knows I’m not a myth, they know the true dangers but they don’t know who I am”  my voice came out smooth I didn’t fumble once, in the past few nights it had all started coming back. In flashes that last one of me hitting my head did it, it let them find me.

“Well how do they know your here, the broken can only find you if you summon them” Dylan said.

“It’s not conscious. In remembering everything that has happened, I summon them, and they are already here, I saw them just before, it’s about to start raining. And I have to leave” I told him my eyes went to Leon when I finished. He nodded his head and I walked past him everyone cleared the way, but Dylan stood stubbornly at the door not letting me go out.

“Dylan move” I told him.

“No I am not letting you go” he said stubbornly crossing his arms and shaking his head.

“Dylan if I don’t go your all going to die, I’m going to die. This is my only hope to end all of it, please Dylan move” I begged him he looked down and his eyes froze at my stomach I looked down to see my hand resting their protectively,

‘Your pregnant’ he said in my mind, I sighed out loud

“you have to let me go, if you care you let me do this by myself, if you really want to help stay with Leon, do not do anything  unless he tell you too, that is the only way you can help me, I have to do this by myself do understand that?”  I said out loud he nodded and kissed my cheek before opening the door Leon followed me and Dylan followed him, the others knew better than to come uninvited.

I walked towards the trees where I last saw the broken, Leon stopped Dylan and I could feel their eyes follow me as I walked down to face the ones who had killed me before my life had even begun.

“Princess” a sinister voice said in the dark as lightning light up the sky and thunder rolled before the rain started to pelt down. Time to face my fears and take a stand, I took a deep breath and held my ground saying nothing.
