We meet again

𝑂𝑛𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑒

After my meeting with MK at the store I went home and made myself something to eat, watered the plants, harvested the vegetables and fruit that was ready and cleaned the house, as there was a bit of dust here and there.

When I least thought it was already 6:00 pm, Scar's party was starting at 7:30 so I got in the shower and started getting ready.

I texted Flo and she told me that she and her family had gone to her grandfather's farm for the day and she was looking forward to being back in LA tomorrow.

The day after tomorrow is our anniversary so we're planning a dinner to celebrate, I hope everything goes great.

I dried my hair, fixed my face a bit and chose the perfect outfit for tonight, nothing too casual but not too formal either. It was a hot evening in LA so I decided to go fresh.

6:50 pm

I left my house and headed to Scarlett's, I arrived to buy a bouquet of flowers for Scar and a bottle of wine for me, in case I need it.

I arrived at Scarlett's house shortly before 7:30, but from what I saw there were already people there, so I didn't feel so embarrassed.

I parked my car, grabbed the groceries and knocked on the door.

"Harper, hi!" Colin greeted me. "Hey Colin, thanks for the invite," I hugged him, "this is for you," I said handing him a bottle of his favorite whiskey. "Oh, you didn't have to, but thank you so much," we headed to the living room where the others were.

"Hello pregnant woman!" I greeted Scar handing her the bouquet of flowers. "Hey! Thank you so much, they're beautiful," she took the flowers, "I'll go put them in a vase, will you join me?," she indicated with her head, "Sure, let's go," I followed her into the kitchen.

"How was the vacation in Oxford?," she asked me filling a vase with water. "It was great, the weather was nice and you know, visiting the Pugh's is always an adventure," I told her. "Flo told me you two had argued, is everything all right?," she asked with a concerned tone. "Yes, we argued a bit but everything is fine now, it was a little thing that later cleared up," I confessed playing with a small trash I found on the table. "I'm glad, I didn't want you to return that pretty ring," she laughed. "I don't plan on doing that," I shook my head with a small smile.

We left the kitchen and headed to the living room where more people had arrived, Scar introduced me to some of her friends that I didn't know and I was chatting a bit with Colin and his group of friends. At about 9:24 pm my bladder felt like it was going to burst, so I excused myself and left to go to the bathroom, where on the way I ran into Scar again.

"Hey, what are you doing?," I asked her, shaking my leg because I couldn't stand the urge to pee anymore. "Oh, I just went to greet a friend who just arrived, but i don't know where she went, you?" she smiled turning back as if she was looking for someone. "Oh, weird, and I was on my way to the bathroom, I felt like-". "Oh sorry, I dropped my keys and went back to get them," interrupted a woman with brown hair and emerald green eyes. "Lizzie, I thought you were gone or something," Scar laughed.

Elizabeth and I made eye contact, once again in awe of each other's unexpected presence.

"Sorry, Lizzie, this is my friend Harper, Harper, this is Lizzie," Scarlett introduced us. "We've already met," Elizabeth expressed, taking my hand in greeting. "Really? Where?" she stared between the two of us. "A bookstore, we ran into each other a few weeks ago, Flo was there too," I looked away from Elizabeth and turned to Scar. "Yes, Flo..." Elizabeth said almost mumbling, I turned my head towards her and tilted it in question at her tone of voice. "That's right, I remember Florence telling me something about a Robbie, and that Robbie is your husband!," Scar acknowledged, pointing at Elizabeth. "Well, I was going to the bathroom so I'll take my leave," I gave them a half smile and ran out of there.

Really only these things happen to me.
