When Jason Allen was just eleven years old he and his brother Barry witnessed their mothers murder and as they grew up one turned to science and became a CSI while the other chose to follow in his adopted fathers footsteps and became a CCPD Detective, but that all changed when the Particle Accelerater blew up causing both Barry and Jason to be struck by lightning leaving them in coma with no idea what destiny has written for them both.
When Jason turned eighteen years old he decided to make a decision for himself, the first real decision he was able to make for himself without having to worry about Barry or Iris, he decided to join the Army; 105th airborne out of Kandahar where he would meet his now best friend John Diggle.
