It was a bright and sunny day out, and my sister and I were laughing, chasing each other around, and just having fun. Like we usually did.

Randomly, I started to fall, and she grabbed to help me not hit the ground. Instead of me not hitting the ground, though, she ended up getting pulled down too because of how small she was. We fell straight through the grass and dirt, through a ceiling, and then landed on the floor. We stood up and looked around. Yellow. Worn mono yellow wallpaper, old moist carpet, and disgustingly loud fluorescent lights.

The Backrooms.

"B- bubba... wh- where are we?" my four year old sister whimpered out, crying a little

"I'm not sure, Maya, but don't worry, we'll be fine. Okay? We'll get home," I said, putting a reassuring and loving hand on her shoulder. I smiled warmly, and then proceeded to sing out the little lullaby I had written just for her.

"Every day, and every night

Even when physically away, I'll always be by your side

I will protect you

Through thick and thin

Nothing and no one will hurt you

I promise"

She sniffled a bit and smiled a little. "O... okay."
