It's been a a day or two since I started wandering and exploring again, and now I'm running for my damn life because I got spotted by a few entities and I currently don't have the supplies to kill them at the moment.
But, then I hear the sounds of them getting killed. I keep running, and I hear whatever killed those things chasing me, but eventually I hit a dead end. I heard tired panting and wheezing from behind me.
"Ugh, you run fast..." I heard... him say. I turned around, confused, to see a man behind me, bent over with his hands on his knees as he pants and wheezes, catching his breath. Once he finally caught his breath, he stood up straight and looked at me, which allowed me to see what he looked like.
He was a fairly tall man with his skin tone being on the more tan side. His eyes were golden brown, and his hair was as black as a crow. His hair was being held back and out of his face with an olive green bandana. Outfit wise, he had a quite ripped up gray tank top, some ripped acid washed jeans, and a ripped plaid shirt tied tightly around his waist, the ripped parts clearly being for bandaging wounds he had, as I could see the plaid pieces wrapped around his right arm and left hand.
I just stared at him silently for a second, and then went, "What the hell do you want?" He immediately had gotten put off guard from that, as he stepped back a slight bit and laughed awkwardly.
"I come in peace! Heheh... uh, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You were just getting chased by a bunch of entities and you seem pretty beaten up," He explained. I raised my eyebrow.
"Yeah, the entities. Why did you kill those things? They weren't bothering you. Usually someone would just see that and get as far away from it as possible to avoid being possibly targeted," I asked, being genuinely curious as to why this man helped me, since common sense was that you get away so YOU don't die.
"I just wanted to help, that's why! You were in danger, so I wanted to help you out of that situation," he explained. I groaned slightly under my breath hearing that.
'Great, some self righteous 'I'LL SAVE YOU ALL' dumbass who just desperately is trying to be a hero because of some inferiority complex,' I thought. I then sighed, and said, "Listen, random guy who's name I don't care enough to know, I had the situation handled. Now go away. I need to go and find a way out."
He tilted his head to the side, curious as to what I meant. "A way out? As in, a way out of this level?" he inquired.
"Yeah. This level and this dimension. I'm trying to get back home," I said, sighing aggressively. "I need to see my family again."
He was silent for a second, seemingly processing what I was saying, until finally asking me, "May I tag along with you?"
I immediately looked at this guy in shock. "Tag along?! Why the hell would-"
I breathed in, and then exhaled, getting my annoyance out. "Why do you want to tag along with me?"
"Well, I'm trying to get back to my home too, out in the Frontrooms! Also, two is better than one!" he chirped out. "Pleaseeeee? I promise I'll be as helpful as I can be!" he excitedly exclaimed, stars practically being in his eyes.
I groaned slightly, reluctantly agreeing. "Okay, fine," I sighed out, "You can tag along. Just don't be annoying."
He smiled widely and squealed a bit, happily. "Oh, you won't regret this! We're gonna be such an amazing duo!"
After that, sentence, I simply chimed out his incessant, overly optimistic babbling and rambling until he was done. This guy must not have been here long, considering how stupidly optimistic he was about us finding a way out.
"Okay, are you done with your monologue?" I asked, annoyed. He giggled slightly, awkwardly, and nodded. "Good, now, since technically we DO need to know each other's names now, I'm Daniel."
He smiled widely. "I'm Adam!" He was clearly happy that he could tell me his name. "It's great to be able to tag along with you!" he added, smiling as wide as ever.
I sighed. "Yeah, yeah, okay, let's go and book it now. We don't want any more entities trying to fuck us in the ass," I stated, starting to leave. Adam nodded and then started following me, smiling.
