You had always been a good angel, always helping out whenever you could or was allowed to.

A stranger who would smile and greet people whenever you could, that's who you were.

That's what you were known for.

The cherubs were always looking up to you, a model angel. Who was always and in every way perfect. You were the definition of perfection in both your actions and appearance.

Your glowing (s/c) skin and (h/t) white hair had always caught the other angels' attention.

Some would say you were God's favorite.

And as a God's favorite creation, you had the pleasure of guiding souls into heaven and leading them to face judgment.

If a soul made it to heaven, you happily showed them their new home and how to start helping others. If the soul made it to hell, they were now considered sinners. You would open a portal and sadly bid them a goodbye hoping they would find happiness.

Heaven was a safe space for you and fellow angels, although the Exorcists did make you shiver in fear.

They were essentially exterminators, helping in the overpopulation of hell. You didn't appreciate how violent they could be, but you couldn't intervene. No one could.

A memory that haunted you to your very core was when you first saw how terrifying the Exorcists could be.

You were leading a sinner to their new home when you saw it, when you saw them.

Blood was everywhere, demons and sinners alike running and trembling in fear. Corpses were piling on top of one another. This was a sight that would stick to you forever. The sinner next to you was just as equally scared as you were.

Lost and frozen in your newfound fear, the sinner ran towards the danger trying to save someone stuck under some rubble. Only for them to be shot by an arrow with a very unique symbol.

Those so-called angels had guns, knives, swords, even bow and arrows all with the same writing.

The black angels looked even more demonic than demons themselves. Covered in blood and still keeping that shadowed smile of theirs. Three turned to look at you and waved.

You felt a gush of air flowing back into your lungs, not realizing you were holding your breath. In an instant, you rushed back into heaven. Breathing heavily and curled yourself into a ball, quivering in fear.

While you were in your state of panic, you failed to realize something had crawled its way into the portal, hiding behind a building just before you collected yourself again.

Closing the portal with a shaky hand, you took slow steps deciding to head home. It peeked out and smirked mischievously.

Snapping out of your trance, you remember you were walking to work. Smiling at the other angels you passed, you opened the door to your locker. Putting on the uniform and going to the paper on the wall to sign in.

Just as you were clocking in, you heard a scream.

The scream was followed by a rather loud thump.

You were never a very curious person when it came to potential danger, so you just froze and stayed as quiet as possible. Listening to any sound that might lead to you knowing what situation this might be.

You heard..a very particular sound. It sounded..squishy? Or was someone eating?

Who would be eating after just hearing someone yell their lungs out?

As quietly as you could you ducked down and headed towards the door, locking it. Spotting a chair you carefully put it under the door handle.

Since the building was quite old, the door had a small hole, but big enough to peek through it.

You wanted to vomit, you wanted to scream and run away. Lifeless eyes stared back at you as you couldn't help but stare back at the corpse.

What was happening?

You managed to look away and found a demon tearing away at your coworkers intestines. The demon was short and had striped horns.

You had always seen demons and sinners as tame and domesticated, never catching them in the act, therefore never fearing them.

...This side of them made you think that the exorcists were much tamer than you thought.

The smell and sight of blood made you silently gag, not being able to do anything you grabbed your phone. Calling the first number you saw.

BRRRR!
BRRRR!
BRRRR!

No..no no no no no!

You forgot to lower the volume.

In a quick second, before you could even register it the demon was banging on the door. You backed away instantly.

A corrupted voice called out to you, teasing you while they laughed maniacally.

It was playing with you, it was playing with their food.

You prayed and prayed to your God dropping your silent act and pleading for anyone to help you.

Then you heard it, the voice of your coworker. But your phone was right next to the door, you rushed to it but before your hand could even graze it a red hand slipped under and grabbed it.

But then it hit you, the red skin, stripped horns and a short figure...it was an imp!

It was part of a lower class type demon, was it trying to raise its reputation? Why did they do this?

Too consumed in your thoughts the imp calmly told your coworker to come to the building and bring others with them.

By the time you heard the imp, you were too late, screaming to stop and leave them alone at the end of the call.

Breaking the door open, the imp shoved and pinned you down putting its hand on your mouth as a way to shut you up.

"You poor poor angel, I'm guessing you were so good to your fellow people. Helping them and kissing their ass as a means to please them. Such a shame..all that work will be gone in an instant."

The imp grinned and tore your (s/c) skin with its sharp claw, drawing blood from the wound.

You heard the front door burst open and the imp shot up looking at the door. They growled, "This isn't over!"

The pressure on your chest finally left, hearing the voice of your coworker you scrambled to get to your feet slipping on your own blood.

Luckily you didn't need to stand up when she arrived, looking up at her you smiled.

You went to thank her...until she smacked your hand away.

She looked at you in disgust and horror,

"MONSTER!!"
