It was another rainy day in Munchford; something they had quite gotten used to. It had been this way for over a week right now. Munchford was a small city, located in Germany. Will Archer was walking along the sidewalk. Today he chose to wear a dark green jacket with loose jeans. He was making his way towards the bakery. It was morning and Will was planning to have breakfast together with his family. He was the one to have volunteered to get breakfast in the howling rain. Walking along the sideways, he looked around and saw several people sharing umbrellas and people taking off their yellow raincoat before they went inside. The water was running along the pavement, being driven into the put. Because of this weather going on for a few days now, it had caused quite some problems. For example, there were less crops due to the erosion of the soil. Munchford wasn't the richest city, so they ran out of products rather quickly. The local grass fields had also turned pretty swampy. Everyone wished this, what it looked like never-ending rain, to vanish anytime soon.
It was quite busy at the bakery, so Will had decided to take a break beneath a roof. He noticed the city's local bicycle storage and went inside. Due to the building mostly being made of wood, the wood had become pretty humid, and some of it had even started rotting. Will retracted his umbrella and placed it down against the wall. He looked for a place to sit down and eventually decided to sit down against the wall where the ground beneath him was most dry. It was more further inside. He laid his backpack next to him and grabbed his phone, checking any messages he had possibly missed. He was more cautious of many things now. This heavy rain era didn't really help his protective nature. He wanted to be able to help his family and friends, in case power went out, or in case one of them was in danger because of the rain. He would always be the one available. He put his phone away again and rumbled through his bag. Grabbing his wallet, he noticed he brought just enough money for his favourite sandwich. This is surely going to be a good breakfast. The family didn't really have much income, but he had decided to treat himself today. Today was his lucky day. Or was it not? He had noticed something in the corner of his eye. It was something sparkly, something shiny. Maybe it was worth something. Will was a pretty good guy, but he also had his urges. His rather poor family would be able to sell it, if it were a piece of jewellery. He stood up and approached it. When stepping closer, he noticed that it was purple-ish. With a pink tint. Crouching down in front of it, he noticed a creature. It was a frog. Was it carrying a crystal? No.. The frog was part of the crystal. Or was the crystal part of the frog? Will blinked. He couldn't believe his eyes. The frog stared at him with its black eyes. It was actually a frog with crystals on its back. Will was not hallucinating. And he realised this as well. He freaked out. He couldn't help but think of the bright side of this; he could give those to the scientists, who knows how much praise he would get and how much money they would give him? He had to bring this home. Forget about the sandwich.
