Chapter One

The sun had just finished rising disturbing Wei Ying from his sleep, He tossed and turned hoping to get just a few more minutes of rest before having to start the day but failed to get comfortable again. He sighed annoyed before slowly getting up from his resting spot on the ground. He stretches earning a few satisfying pops before glancing around his small camping area. He had slept up against the tree using the big and uncomfortable roots near the bottom as a pillow, not too far in front of him was a campfire he had used the night before to cook himself a meal before he went to bed. The flames had long gone out sometime during the night leaving the remains of a few small logs and wood chips Wei Ying kicked it watching as some of the wood chips scattered around.

'Where should I go today?' He wondered to himself walking around the small campsite. He raises a hand rubbing his nose in thought.

'Lotus Pier? No... Lanling?'

Wei Ying thinks about it a bit more, he didn't particularly need any money at the moment. He still had a few chunks of gold left from the different jobs he did and he didn't particularly need anything at the moment. After a brief moment, he decided on using today as a break he had been at Lanling a few days ago and heard a few people mention a liquor from Gusu.

'Emperor's smile is sold in...Gusu?' Thinking back to the conversation he heard between two Jin clan disciplines he had confirmed that it was indeed Gusu that sold the emperors smile. Now excited to taste a liquor he hasn't had before Wei Ying gathers his things and sets off to Gusu.

Soon Wei Ying had arrived at Gusu, getting off the a boat in Caiyi Town he had thanked the person who had rowed him before paying and getting off.He spun around just nearly bumping into a few people while admiring the view it was certainly different from other places that he's visited.

Caiyi Town much like Lotus Pier was surrounded by water, the town was split into two by Biling lake multiple boats rowed in on both sides each selling different fruits and drinks to those who were passing by.Wei Ying stopped on an arch of one of the bridges leaning over the stone railing slightly as he listened to different merchants yell out about things they were selling when someone had caught his attention.A women dressed in tan robes had stumbled out of what looked to be a inn,she stumbles around for a moment before grabbing onto one of the balancing beams near the entrance to stop herself from falling.She lets out a low groan before lifting up a white bottle to her lips.

Wei Ying chuckled at the sight before approaching the lady.

"Hello" 

He greeted but it didn't seem like the girl had heard him.

"Hello"

This time he waves one of his hands getting her attention,the lady turned to him her face flushed a deep shade of red clearly drunk.

"What are you drinking?"

The girl had swayed a bit before squinting her eyes at him.

"Em...emperor's sm-smile!" She cheers throwing both of her arms up with a large smile on her face.

"You..should-"

She walks forwards a few steps before tripping.Wei Ying had caught her and helped her into a sitting position on the ground.

"Are you okay?" Wei Ying bent down beside her,noticing that she had passed out.

"Well someone can't handle their liquor"

He let out a low laugh before his attention had turned to the white bottle that was still held firmly in her hand.

'Don't mind if I do"
