Although he would have not objected to staying longer, Kento glanced to the bronze analogue clock which sat on the opposite wall above the auctioneer. The auction would end quite soon. The real work would begin.

"One thousand!" a man's voice called from the audience as the next bid had commenced.

"One thousand bid, I've got a one thousand bid, now two thousand, now two!" the auctioneer announced, pointing to the raised paddles.

The blond operative brought his phone from his pocket, standing and inching through the row he sat in. His sleek black Oxfords padded silently against the low maroon carpet, he ensured his composure meant purpose and importance. He also made sure to quietly apologize to each person he passed before bringing his phone to his ear as a guise for a phone call.

While exiting the room and bidding the doorman a quick wave, he turned a final time only to see a familiar red velvet dress stick out brightly from the sea of black and several rich colors.

Red's e/c eyes had been on him for quite some time, he could tell by the way they did not waver when he finally met her gaze. She subtly smiled- a warm, acquainted smile- before flicking her attention back to the babbling auctioneer and raising her paddle to bid for a gorgeous China tea set.

Red looked back to Nanami, who in complete honesty was entertained by this clever woman. He wanted to see how this whole thing would play out before he went to his staked position. She raised her brows and Nanami gave her a subtle nod, letting her know that he was attentive.

Currently, the highest bid was about ten thousand, and the paddles had begun to waver and become more hesitant to bid on the item. Still, there were a few buyers and they remained persistent. Red glanced to the few active bidders from the corner of her eye before gracefully placing her paddle to her lap.

It seemed she had given up until she brought her velvet gloved hand to the air.

"Fifty thousand," she sighed, just above a normal speaking voice.

"Fifty thou-" the auctioneer motioned to her with a quick flick of his hand before pausing, almost in surprise. He was most definitely not expecting such a drastic bid. Still, he obliged with an amused smile at the beautiful woman in red.

"Fifty thousand, a fifty thousand bid, I have fifty thousand!"

Nanami watched as the auctioneer's eyes scanned the room, the once confident paddles lowering until there was none left.

"Fifty thousand, going once, going twice-"  he lowered the gavel in his right hand, striking it down upon the podium- "Sold to the woman in red!"

As customary bidding etiquette, the audience clapped. Red's h/c curls turned to Kento before facing the front once again, that smile of hers replaced with an eye roll as if what she'd just offered was cheap change.
