the small apartment did not look cramped at all, despite soobin owning a variety of things with him. his mom and siblings had always praised how good he was managing a household, but he had just realized the truth in their words just now. "i found it," soobin announced, clenching on to an old usb yeonjun used to store their group project, gasping for air as he got back to his friend on the line. yeonjun's victory cheers could be very well heard even without the speaker on.
"THANK YOU MY BEST BROTHER, I-"
soobin's eardrums couldn't take it anymore, and his fingers moved by themselves to hang up on the poor fellow. only after did he realize what he's done, "...my bad,"
i'll see him later at work anyways, he shrugs to himself.
the boy gets back on his feet, organizing the mess back to where they belonged and prepared himself for another part time shift coming up. he still doesn't understand how yeonjun manages to lose his usb here, but it was a good call for him to store it when he found an unfamiliar usb laying around.
before he forgot, he moved his little magnetic "today" sunshine pin to the "wednesday" column of his weekly work schedule. turning to his studies schedule afterwards, making sure he's got everything he needs in his backpack.
and he's good to go.
"i'm tired," yeonjun sighed as he threw his torso above the cool counters, straightening his back when he felt the presence of someone creeping behind him. he groaned when it turned out to be jung wooyoung.
"stop complaining in front of the most tired among us," the shorter male hissed, as he too leaned his elbow on the counter, impatient for their shift to end.
"can't wait to get home and sleeeep," soobin groans, massaging his shoulders.
"we got class later tonight at 7 though?"
"thank you, i had no idea,"
the three hurriedly straightened their backs and aprons when the door chimed, signaling the arrival of new customers. wooyoung, who was on register duty, welcomed them warmly, "good afternoon, what can i get you today?"
the other two also got up, ready to make the order. "one iced americano, two hot caramel macchiato, three cold winter melon tea, and one hot cappuccino," wooyoung reports briefly before going back to attend to another customer.
"oh my," a customer gasps. judging by her appearance, and the kiddy backpack she has hoisted on her back, she was probably a young mother buying refreshments for her mother friend squad. "you three are so young," she smiles in awe.
"one roasted milk tea," wooyoung chirped, "i'll be making this one, you focus on the order earlier,"
"are you students?" the lady asks with a friendly tone. yeonjun returns the friendly gesture with a smile, "we're in university,"
"i see! how nice it is to be young," she chuckled, "it must be difficult dividing the time for work and studies, it's no easy feat,"
"it sure is," wooyoung chirps, nodding in agreement.
"i too used to work as i study, it was horrible," the lady muttered, reminiscing her younger years, "but at the end, i couldn't say that i regretted it,"
soobin totally agrees, nodding vigorously at her statement.
"your order ma'am," yeonjun chirps, pushing her refreshments over as her buzzer goes off indicating her order ready.
"ah, yes," she smiles, making sure of her order once more before lifting it up, "well then, keep up the great work, thank you,"
"yes ma'am, come again," wooyoung smiled.
