It's been about a month and a half since I embarked on my first world tour with my band, Void Priestess, and we were headlining the tour alongside Motionless In White. I happened to be out getting lunch for myself and my bandmates, and I was standing in front of a guy who I initially mistook for a woman because of all the makeup he was wearing. Neither of us really talked to each other, and I wouldn't have even known what he looked like if I hadn't seen him come in after I did. I returned to my tour bus and mentioned the mystery man to my bandmates, who were just as confused as I was as far as who he was. I saw someone walking over to the tour bus right next to ours, and as he got closer, I recognized him as the same guy that I saw when I was getting lunch for my band. "There's the guy, right there," I said, pointing him out. "Wow. If he was in a contest for the scariest band members of all time, he'd do pretty well," said Grace Heart, who co-founded Void Priestess with me as lead guitarist. "You have a point there," I said flatly. "You should go talk to him," Lily Madison, the band's bassist, told me. "Why?" I asked. "Because it's not every day that you see the same stranger twice in the same day," Lily said. "Fine, I'll go talk to him. Be right back," I said, walking off of our tour bus and going over to the guy.
"You want some help with that?" I asked, since he appeared to be struggling to carry the food he had. "Huh? Oh, that would be nice, but you don't have to help if you have something else to do," he said. "It's better than sitting around doing nothing," I said, grabbing a few bags. "Ha, you got a point there. I don't think we've met before. My name's Chris," he said. "I'm Mhysa," I said. "Mhysa. Interesting name," he said as he opened the door of the tour bus next to mine with his foot. "Come on in. I promise we won't bite," he said, then turned back to me, a mischievous smirk on his face. "Unless you want us to," he added, making me blush a soft shade of pink. "Just get in so I can get the rest of your food in," I said impatiently. "Alright, alright, calm down," he said, stepping out of the way so I could enter the tour bus. "Let me introduce you to my friends. That guy is Vinny Mauro, he's our drummer," Chris said, pointing to a guy with makeup on that made him look almost like a ghost. "Justin Morrow," Chris continued, pointing to a guy who had lime green hair and makeup on in a similar style to Chris'. "Ryan Sitkowski, and that dope over there wearing the freaking lampshade as a hat or something, is Ricky "Horror" Olson," he concluded. "Guys, this is Mhysa," he said loudly to get the attention of the others.
After talking to Chris a bit more, I learned that he was the lead vocalist of Motionless In White, and he mentioned that one of the band's influences was my father, Rob Zombie. "You guys are influenced by Rob Zombie?" I asked curiously. "Yeah, why?" Chris asked. "That's my dad," I said, and when he looked confused, I rolled my eyes. "My dad is Rob Zombie. Mhysa Ashe is just my stage name. My given name is Destiny Cummings," I explained. "Oh. Well, I suppose you have to get back to your band, so I'll see you around," he said, turning away from me. Instinctively, I reached out and grabbed his arm, bringing my flirtatious side to the surface for the first time in a while. "Maybe we could exchange phone numbers before I go?" I asked, nibbling on my bottom lip. "Oh, sure," he said right away, grabbing two pieces of paper, writing his phone number on one, while I wrote mine on the other. We handed each other the pieces of paper, and I left, putting the piece of paper with his phone number in my pocket once I added it to my list of contacts.
"So, who was it?" Asked Hannah Young, the band's rhythm guitarist. "Chris Motionless. He's the vocalist of Motionless In White, the other headlining band on this tour," I said. "So, is he hot?" Grace asked. "You sound like a high school girl, Grace," I said. "My question still stands," she said. "Yes, he's hot, and before you ask, yes, I got his phone number," I said. "You go, girl!" Grace said, giving me a high five. "Did you tell him who your dad is?" Asked Jessica Johnston, the band's drummer. "I didn't really have a choice once Chris said that he was one of his band's influences," I said. I sat down and did a quick search on YouTube for one of my favorite songs that my dad released, "Dragula", and to my surprise, one of the top search results was for a cover version of the song by Motionless In White. I grabbed my earbuds, plugged them in, then put them in my ears and pressed play on the Motionless In White video for "Dragula". It was so good that I started to bang my head along with it, something that I also did when I listened to my dad's version. "Holy crap, that was amazing!" I said when I was done. "I think someone's in love," Hannah remarked, and I threw a crumpled up piece of paper at her. "What?" She asked. "Stop talking about how I'm in love. I gave up on love after my last breakup, remember?" I asked, even though I couldn't deny what I felt for Chris.
"Thank you for coming out to see us tonight! People like you help keep this industry alive. We'll see you later!" I said at the end of a concert in Milan, Italy. I let my hair down and took off my leather jacket, and I was about to take off my sweaty black tank top and put on a t-shirt when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I turned around and came face-to-face with Chris Motionless. "What the hell?! How did you get in here?!" I asked him sharply. "I was waiting for you," he said. "That doesn't answer my question," I said. "I snuck in right before your concert ended," he said, and my expression softened somewhat. "You could have just waited until I got back. I probably would've let you in," I said. "I didn't want to leave it to chance. I had to see you again," he said, and I noticed that he seemed to be hiding something behind his back.
"What do you have behind your back?" I asked him. "Oh, this? It's a rose that I put in the pocket of my suit jacket. I thought you'd like to have it," he said, holding it out to me. "That's not a real rose, is it? I've never seen a black rose before," I said. "Ah, you got me there. Still, it's yours if you want it," he said. "Sure. It's pretty," I said, taking the black rose from his outstretched hand. "Thank you, Chris," I said. "It's not a problem," he said. I resisted the sudden urge to throw my arms around him and hug him, or even kiss him. I was about to go back to my tour bus when Chris spoke up again. "I was wondering, uh, do you want to come with me to my bus?" He asked. "Sure. Let me just let my bandmates know," I said, sending a quick text to Grace to let her know where I was going.

I included the Motionless In White cover of Rob Zombie's song "Dragula" at the beginning of the chapter. I got the name Mhysa from a song of the same name from the Game of Thrones soundtrack, if anyone was wondering. Until next time!
