The familliar, haunting snowy trail snaked through the forest, pushing through streams and thick undergrowth. The quiet was only filled by the footfall of a singular man, and his non-human companionship.
If Mike was truly honest with himself, he had never even expected to find Wolfie. He had needed to try at least, but he had believed it was in vain- Wolfie should've been long gone from where he'd last been- the sanitorium was burnt, messy rubble.
And yet, Wolfie walked at Mike's side, sparing anxious glances to their companions and having protectively placed himself between Mike and the percieved threat.
Which brought Mike to the next thing- the two wholeass demons following him at his side, a wary distance held between them and him. Every now and again, they would hiss, or chitter at eachother, obviously discussing what the Hell was going on.
Mike wondered that himself.

Mike's blood ran cold as two figures made their way toward him and his wolf, moonlight reflecting in their eyes.
Wolfie growled, and one of the pale creatures hissed in return, stepping closer out of the trees. Mike held his gun up in warning, and the creature stopped, keeping its distance in the dark now. Another monster, a little taller than the one who was testing Mike's boundaries, slid up beside it and they quietly chattered to eachother.
They're gonna kill us. Mike worried. Oh God only Sam knows I'm up here again.
Two milky gazes settled on him and Wolfie now, almost curious.
Then, the taller one had hopped over to him and Wolfie, clinging to a tree-

Mike was forcibly torn from his thoughts as Wolfie barked and snapped at one of their new 'friends', causing said 'friend' to leap back in fright. Mike couldn't help but snort in barely contained amusement.
The taller demon came up beside his companion, and growled at Wolfie, who didn't seem at all threatened.
Mike couldn't say they were the worst things he'd seen here- they retained the vast majority of their features from when they were fully human- hair, skin colour, even their clothing was still holding decently- the only disturbing traits they had were newfound fangs, claws and paling eyes. They hadn't even gotten much taller- maybe an inch or so, but not much.
For what they were, they seemed pretty pathetic. Still, Mike wasn't going to test that.
Mike reached down to his canine pal, patting his head. "Good boy, Wolfie."
Wolfie panted happily up at Mike, breath misting in the cold mountain air.

Mike could barely just make out the guest cabin between the frosted trees and rocks.
Not long now.
The sun hadn't risen yet, but the sky was beginning to become more and more pastel. Mike wondered what his two stalkers would do when the sun returned.
He didn't really know what he wanted them to do. He didn't want to be at risk by keeping them around- but he didn't want them to run off into the woods again.
Sam would be so mad if she knew I found them and let them run away.
A cooing sound right next to his ear made him jump, and he turned to the dark-brown haired boy who had disrupted his train of thought. One eye was all pale, while the other, on the right, retained its deep green colour and functioning pupil. The left of his face split into teeth, and he did something close to a chuckle at Mike's fear.
Still an asshole.

When Mike had come looking for Wolfie, he hadn't expected to find the presumed dead Josh and Chris.
Especially not in a half-monster state.
And yet here he was.
Wolfie grumbled at Josh, seeming to get tired of defending Mike from the pair's shenanigans.
Mike assumed that Chris and Josh recognised him- based off the fact he was still alive. He wondered if that meant they could be saved.
Maybe Josh moreso than Chris- Mike exhaled, watching his breath float away into a slowly brightening sky. While Josh retained parts of his face and jokester personality, Chris had become more alike to a feral cat. Chris's vision was practically gone- glasses had been lost or abandoned at somepoint- and though his mouth ripped his face the same way Josh's did, Chris had extra teeth peeking out of scarred lips on his right side too.
Mentally, Chris had become a bit more aggressive- he had been the first to try hunt Mike- and was also more jumpy as they were discovering. He relied on Josh to guide their path, however- his vision movement based in entirety as well as his already existing visual issues.
