I casually walked down the white brick halls of the school with my ginger tour guide, paying attention to the small scuffs on the floor and the cobwebs building up in the upper corners. You could walk in and easily see that the building was old, it needed a paint job, badly. It smelled like rubber and a little bit of bleach alongside a cloudy musk that I couldn't explain. The way the building was set up made it look like a square from a birds-eye view. The halls were one continuous square that looped around an outdoor amphitheater with a few stairwells to switch floors. The classrooms were placed strategically, having all of the different core classrooms bunched together. All of the math classes were right next to each other on the same floor, as were the rest of the core classes, apart from the language classes. The doors to the amphitheater were right in front of the main office. The best way I could describe this school was something you would see in an old movie.  Fenry stepped in front of me and politely opened the door, gesturing me in with her left arm. Stepping into the office I noticed it kept up with the dark blue and gold theme. To my right was the reception office, and to my left, it looked to be a conference room, alongside a waiting area and two double doors leading to the road outside. I heard a door open to my left and saw a lanky woman in flats and a long green dress step out of the conference room. She switched the stack of papers she was holding over to her left arm as she adjusted her auburn-colored messy bun. Her green eyes stared at me through thick-rimmed black glasses before giving me a small smile.

"Hey.. welcome to um, nockfell high.." she said tremulously.

Was she nervous? She shifted her feet some, looking anywhere but my face.
So she was nervous.
Am I intimidating? I looked back down at what I thought was a simple cute outfit, wondering if I should have gone with a different pair of shoes. We sat there for a few seconds not saying much of anything before Fenry cleared her throat.

"Sam?... The schedule?" she asked, slightly losing her patience.
"Oh!" she shifted through the stack of papers before she discarded the sheet into her hands.

"Sorry..." she sighed. "I'm really out of my element today, I guess." she said before smiling again.

I thanked her and took the paper before she floated over to the other side of the office. Fenry looked over my shoulder and started pointing at the boxes under my name, alongside a vertical box,  where I assumed my picture was supposed to go.

"They're probably going to pull you out of class to go get your picture done since you missed a picture-makeup day." she said.

I raised my eyebrows in surprise.

"How did you know I was thinking about that?" I asked.

She bit her lip and made the fuckboy face before saying that she was magic. I giggled to myself before saying "slay" and we went back to what we were doing.

" Ok, so these boxes are set up in the order your classes go every day." she said, pointing to the first box.

"It looks like biology! I think you have that class with Gray." she said excitedly.

"Nice!" I responded and high-fived her.

I already feel better knowing that I share a class with someone. Not saying I was nervous, but I just felt relief of some sort wash over when I heard his name. We carefully made our way out of the office and into the right-angled hallways, Making sure not to speak too loudly, to not disrupt the busy classes. Each stride Fenry took was long and quick, so of course, I had trouble keeping up with her too.

"You and Keeter both are fast walkers and it's pissing me off." I laughed "and you're not even that tall." I said.

Her jaw hit the floor as she gasped.
