After a leisurely breakfast having pancakes at the local cafe, we head to the best place in the world if you ask me.
The zoo.
We explored the whole zoo, from elephants to monkeys to pandas, the thrill I was getting from this day made me feel like a little kid again. I just thrived off the atmosphere, all the families looked so happy, maybe I was making up for lost time but not to be dramatic, this is definitely one of the best days of my life.
"You really do love the zoo don't you" he laughs at me with an ice cream in his hand.
I smile a big cheesy grin and nod whilst watching the sea lion show.
He laughs, flinging his arm around me and the back off my chair.
"Your cute" he rubs my arm.
Once the shows over you're allowed to just sit and watch the sea lions swim around, everyone else leaves and it ends up just me and Harry watching the little animals swim up and down over and over.
"What you thinking about, you've gone all quiet?" He questions leaning back into his chair.
"Do you not think it's sad that they're locked in here, all day everyday, they never get to see their family again, they never get to do what they want to do and they never get to live their own life?"
I pause looking at the sea lion closest to us swim around, what if he wants to get out? We wouldn't ever know.
He stays silent.
"They'll never know the life they could've had, should've had, had things been different. They could be someone else, they could be free but instead, they're here and people like us just watch them and don't help. We watch them suffer" I turn to him realising, he knows this conversation is no longer about the sea lions.
Harry takes a deep breath and turns to face me.
"Life is what you make it, everyone has a shitty chapter and you can either stay on that chapter or you can finish the book and read the happy ending. You write you story Amelia, you've got the pen and paper, don't be killing your character off"
He pauses grabbing my nearest hand and pulling it to his mouth to place a gentle kiss.
"You've got so much to live for, so much to come, can't you see? You're free now baby"
I smile, my heart genuinely feels touched by his words.
I feel like he actually understands me?
He actually just felt the feelings I felt, thought about them and responded in the most perfect way he could.I'm glad I came on this trip with him, I have a feeling my freedom may just well be him.
